Go for the full combo!

Controls, physics, animations and overal presentation are all fantastic.
However, the stage design is outright hostile, rushed out the door with clearly inadequate playtesting.
Hazards are abundant with zero thought put into their placement.

The most overwhelming issue that brings down the whole game is the boss fights. Bosses just stall for ages between each hit to waste your time with no other strategy than to just wait it out.

This problem becomes even worse when bosses have multiple phases and the ability to one shot you. There are zero checkpoints during boss fights so if you die, back to waiting and waiting.

Don't waste your time. This game doesn't challenge your skill, only your patience.

Scam

I thought having the Deluxe Edition meant I wouldn't have to worry about MTX for the first year of the game but then they still charge me for Heihachi's stage. Clearly testing the waters for what's to come and I'm not having it.

10/10 Sonic game. It's perfect.

I like it.

As a big fan of Beat 'em Ups and enjoyer of Point and Click adventure games, this is a glorious blend of the two. When given the choice to fight, you get to flex your Beat 'em Up fundamentals skills instead of just watching your character fight.

The combat is pretty good (every playthrough I'm playing on Hardcore), each enemy feels different to fight due to how easy or hard they are to knockdown, how much fast they recover from hitstun, and how fast they can attack. What also factors into decision making during combat is how each enemy wakes up after a knockdown, some flee, some do a reversal, some will just eat your meaty down air for a combo.

Something Beat 'em Ups usually keep to an absolute minimum, is the story. Here in Brok the InvestiGator, the quality of the setting, story, and characters caught me by surprise! I really ended up getting attached to the characters and their situations. The multiple endings and huge number of alternate paths are keeping me playing over and over.

Soundtrack is very competent and never got boring, I found it made all the integration scenes very exciting and all the emotional scenes hit harder.

Brok is a fantastic example of having your cake and eating it too. It's an amazing Beat 'em Up and an amazing Point and Click Adventure. Highly recommended!!

This game is awesome. Controls are brilliant, you can play as big the cat, the team mechanics are actually really fun to work with. Hate that support was dropped quickly for this game. It's super underrated.
