Update: This part will go first, because you need some perspective. The game devs mess up some times, they balance things that need balancing of course but then they balance things that don't. They're human, they make mistakes, they do things poorly some times. But they actually care about what the playerbase want and don't want. The mod drop chance booster in he second half of the review was a thing the playerbase wanted for years. It was just,m unfortunately, announced a week or so after re-rolling drops couldn't happen more than once.

The community hated that change, so Digital Extremes (DE) reverted that change pretty quickly.

DE's game is full of farming, and full of bugs. Some bugs have been used as features for ever, and the only reason they persist is because the bug-fixing team goes for game breaking bugs first, inconvenient bugs next, and then all the rest. So bugs that are good for the player will often go years without getting fixed.

Sometimes after being fixed, they'll undo the fix and officially make it a feature. Sometimes with more defined rules.

But the truth is, the game's still grindy. The game's still buggy. But they try to release content the players want, they make changes to existing items and warframes the players want, and they try to balance it at least somewhat fairly.

They're just slow and, sometimes, bad at it. Play if you want.

A while ago, I would have recommended this game, don't get me wrong. It's fun, it's got plenty of things to do, and there's plenty of content.

But a lot of what you'll be doing is farming for drops, mods especially, as mods are what actually power up your gear. You had plenty of tools to go about getting mod drops, as there were abilities that would re-roll a loot drop from a corpse, and they all stack on each other.

Or. well. They used to Stack.

DE knew for years time they stacked, and knew that players were stacking them to try to roll the actual 0.02% drop chance on rare mods, and they allowed it to continue all the way up until a few months ago.

They then "fixed" that "bug", not letting you roll again and double the mod drop chance.

And now they're about to release a Double Mod Drop Chance booster. For real money. Not even for Platinum, a current bought with real money that can be traded between players.

Cash only.

They're taking away your tools to sell you their own. Do not play.
