Dear Mom and Dad,

I've been fighting in this war for a month now. Even though, I'd love to stay at the base with my fellow marines and listen to some good Creedence Clearwater Revival, we have a mission to accomplish : beat the hell out of that Northern Vietnam Army and its soldiers, or Charlies as we called them.

I have to admit that i was expecting the landscape to be more beautiful than that, but let's be honnest, i don't really have time to focus on that. Indeed, we have to fight that war and that one is quite intense : i've seen a lot of my friends falling on the battlefield shot by these bloody AKs or trapped with this Charlie's Punjis. Fighting these battles is really getting on my nerves, sometimes i can barely aim when i'm getting pintpointed and i'm not even talking about these freaking artillery fires.

Hopefully, we can have support from our HQ sending choppers to help us or even Napalm Strikes, i can't believe what it'd be like to be on Charlie's side when this Hell's bombs fall from the sky. But, alas, sometimes, our Commander looks like rookies that doesn't know anything about what we're doing and then, all looks like a bloody slaughterhouse, as if we needed that ...

I hope i'll be seeing all you pretty soon, but I have that feeling that i might be around Asia for a while.

Love you,

Your son.
