Great remake of the original from the Amiga, one I played many years ago. The models and sceneries are nice and enjoyable, while not state of the art. And flying around with mantas or riding the island in a walrus is really pleasant. Also the added single player campaign sheds some light as to how the whole war there started in the first place. A weird mix of FPS and skimpy storyline is added as a little bonus or big tutorial maybe. As the game is now however it's like a raw diamond, lots of potential, but all locked in. The terrible AI and even worse walrus AI pathfinding is disturbing. However as the makers of the game are going to release/open up more and more to the modding community. (Including ways to design and import/share islands.) And are bringing out patches, I have high hopes this game will be great in the future. Probably what I will do is shelve the game soon and then try it again next year with a dozen mods and patches installed ;)

Most of the more serious bugs have been solves. (Like the walrus pathfinding.) But still plenty remain as the sales of the game were pretty low most of the developers resources were put on ARMA and such. Still I had plenty of fun playing it even when it still had the bugs. Not the best of games, but certainly not the worst as well :)

So is it better now, at £4.99 I will buy it anyway. Just wondering? :Doug:
