There are FAR too many good things to say about this game and almost no bad things to say.
Easily one of my favorite games on Steam, and certainly one my favorite RPG/turn-based on steam; and keep in mind that rivals the Final Fantasy series. Honestly, it's that good.

The story is absolutely phenomenal, as is the soundtrack; and the game play is as frustrating as it is rewarding and unique. I certainly wasn't expecting to love this game as much as I did at first glance, but the further you get the more you'll get attached. I genuinely can't say I've felt this impacted from a game in a very long time, and it's an absolutely wonderful feeling.

While the game deals with very dark subject matter, and is overall very dark and depressing; it has incredibly well-done comedic elements and plot points, which serve as a much needed break from the mental trudge. All while not taking away from the overall mood/atmosphere that the game is trying to convey.

I could go on and on because I seriously feel like I cannot praise this game enough; it's a modern masterpiece without a doubt. You can tell how much effort, thought and care went towards the production of this game, and it's an absolute joy to play through. What makes it all the more impressive is how small the team was that made it, and they did an absolutely phenomenal job.

TL;DR: If I could only recommend a single game on steam, this would be it.
