I've been playing for a long time now. I can say the game is pretty exciting when it's new. As you gain experience in the game, a lot of the "horror" aspect is lost. This is really only remedied by stealth killers who bring some theatrical flare to a match. I'd like to see killers and environments improve to put the "horror" aspect back into the game play.

The community is a mixed bag with toxicity on both the killer and survivor side. Do your best to stay out of groups or chats about the game and you'll likely do a good job of avoiding it which will in turn improve your experience.

After playing the game for so long, I would like to see some new mechanics added to freshen up the game play. Enviornmental kills or attacks (which can add to the horror through jump scares) are suggestions. Adding more player emotes, taunts, etc are also ways to add a little more variety. Adding additional ways for survivors and killers to interact within the environment is another suggestion. Such as on the map The Game. There are monitors on the computer. Why not make these real time shots of the game, similar to using cams on Among Us, for players to increase awareness and try to avoid the killer without nerfing perks. Add different objects instead of just pallets to drop. Again, use things that appear naturally withinthe environments. Add new animations for how players and killers vault and remove these. The devs should also take time to update animations, such as healing, to look more realistic.

I'm curious what the match rating system is used for. Is there an actual point to it? If not, why? Use it to improve game quality and reward players and killers who play well and respectfully. Create algorithms that use collected data to help the game make better match-making decisions, punish poorly ranked players, and reward good players.

Overall the game is not bad. It's most exciting when its new and you are learning. It's simple and easy to follow enough that its addictive. If you avoid the community groups and chats, you'll avoid a lot of the toxicity that contaminates the community. Playing with friends is the best way to improve survivor rate for players. Solo players can win, but you'll want to stay very situationally aware and be more calculated on your strategy as solo queueing is a mixed bag of experience and participant levels.
