Its one of the best racing games out there if not the best on pc, but port to steam is really really bad. I have played windows edition for more than 200 hrs but on steam there are several issues that are not fixed till this date and most frustrating of them all is crashing when playing with friends and stuttering. I dont recommend this game till atleast these two of many issues solved first on steam.
June 2021 Update:
Still in June my review remains the same as I'd rather wait for forza horizon 5 tbh than buying this game even in sale because of the attention of developers to the game at current stage.
2024 Update:
If your game is crashing after clicking on continue button in the game, what worked for me are following things:
1. Update the win 11 and update till there are no updates remaining
2. Verify game files from steam game settings
3. Restart the system after done with first two steps, this might work for you.
While searching for solution, I came across other absurd solution which worked for others was turning on bluetooth and LAN adapter which didn't work for me. Anyway Enjoy the game.

Honestly one shouldn't even be doing any of this shit just to allow the game to run properly honestly.

I have frame drops and stuttering with v sync on and not so much with it off but then screen tearing is an issue. Game pass has the same issue with the game for some reason. Yet last year when i got the game on Game pass on this same PC it was running great no worries honestly.

Bill gates must fix his damn game and stop pushing his stupid vaccine crap.

mine crash after that one race when you get your first house, after that the game doesnt work it fucked itself after the first loading screen making it useless af.

What i guess most people miss about " the best racing game " is the fact that the content spreadt on FH4 is very levelled , not to high quality but varied

dirt rally focuses on rally and off-road mechanics
wrc is mostly the same as dirt
project cars 2 lack freeroam - which i know most dislike , but its still missing it
AC - is not begineer friendly and most good stuff are on mods with not pre-set multiplayer brackets
ACC - /\

FH4 has offroad , property ( very not deep in that one tho ) , freeroam , events , begineer friendly and bracketed matchmaking along with crossplay and a big fanbase

its not too complex either - a good game isnt determined by how complex it is , but by how fun it is , it also offers a mainstay for casual - battleroyale and also wacky cars not found in sim racers without mods - which most people refrain from installing ( but i do )

the marketing on forza is also solid with most people having a grasp what horizon is

horizon is a generic racer now that you look at it , but sometimes excelling at one thing isnt what caters to most , for the sad part is , most want a generalized even experience , and one can find that in forza

you want to be something ? - its probably doable in forza horizon 4

ps : im not talking to OP , i agree , the game is very buggy

Yeah, right after AC & ACC, rFactor 2, Dirt Rally 2.0, WRC 9, Project Cars 2, etc. Basically if you exclude all of the racing sims in existence, FH4 would then become the best racing game, i get what you saying.
