So, I just finished Saint's Row and can give my opinion on the game.
To make it short, the game is weak and adds nothing special to the formula.
It's the least interesting Saint's Row I played, and very far from the closest looking (and best of the series) Saint's Row 3.

There are some good times, and infuriating ones (well, it's a Saint's Row). There is little actual personality to most characters and none have any development.
The gameplay mechanics themselves are fine, good even, though they still haven't added a proper cover system for the player.
The story is weak and the end was fairly nonsensical to me.
Also there is a huge mess on the audio front and, without extensively digging deep to tune it well enough, you'll only properly hear voices, the rest will be very low / muffled. You get used to it but it adds to the weak feeling of the game.

All said, the game is worth a playthrough but not the purchase of DLCs nor the grind to complete all of it. Finished at 28 hours and still have at least half the side-missions left over and the last ventures not purchased.

Still, I think it's a good game, just no a worthy Saint's Row, Hence the okay-ish thumbs up.
