This game is an impressive, story-rich, worthy Harvest Moon descendant with a quirk.
Instead of being a farmer with on-the-side activities, you are a builder taking and completing build orders from the city's guild.

You have the standards of all HM games : home improvements, tool improvements, social interactions, marriage...
The story is very rich for the genre and you unlock areas all along (new traders, "biomes", ruins...).
The social interaction are also pretty advanced when compared the other heavy hitter closer to Harvest Moon that is Stardew Valley. You can go to play with friends and do many activities or on dates with your partner, and every NPC is voiced, though the quality is at times different from a character to another and some lines aren't voiced at all.

On the job mechanics, you have to harvest ressources with the standard pick and axe for minerals and lumber, which are the basis of most of your creations. You start very small, making stone stools, and rise up to building large complex structures depending on your orders. The story and event creations are used and visible in the world while the daily commissions are just given to NPCs for completion.

As for the game time, I played 82 hours and stopped at mid-fall of the 2nd years at the time of the review. I completed the main story (which I believe I rushed a bit) and have only just wed, with many more social parts to play as well as being first in the seasonal events.

Farming isn't the main point of the game but it follows the big line of the Harvest Moon genre games.
I guess you can easily compare the furnaces and primary resources to soil and seeds though, considering the preparations and subsequent uses of those.

Do share your article when you're done with it, that would be a nice read.

Congratulations on your wedding :D :steamhappy:
Also, thanks for bringing this game to my attention a while back. I'm writing an article about farm type games and this was just the type of game I was looking for :steamhappy:
