Helldivers 2 is a 3rd person PvE focused shooter where you battle for managed democracy and liberty against foes like the Terminids and Automatons alike. You are a Helldiver, a grunt front line soldier in the midst of a galactic war, tasked with spreading managed democracy.
Overall, the gameplay loop is simple, effective, and fun. You drop down on a planet by selecting a mission and you go give the enemies of Super Earth hell, divers! It can be very hard, especially on higher difficulties, but it is very rewarding when you are able to extract with all of your samples, or when you one tap a hulk from 100 meters away, or when you ERROR: ANTI DEMOCRATIC INFORMATION CONTAINED, TERMINATING MESSAGE .
