Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is generally speaking a good game. But there's a lot to learn and the learning curve is very unforgiving. The amount of pixel peeks, spawn peeks, unforgiving angles you're going to go up against are gonna make you question if you should still play the game. But if you watch the siege school episodes on youtube, and just look up guides you can make the learning curve a lot more forgiving because you'll have more general knowledge.

The gameplay
The gameplay is fun, and with plenty of operators to choose from, there's a lot of fun to be had, The beginning operator (the Recruit) is a pretty decent operator, there are obviously better ones, but for someone you get for free he's pretty solid. There are several playlists and they're all pretty good.

The operators
There are quite a few operators in siege, they all cost either:
  • 1,000 renown
  • 10,000 renown;
  • 15,000 renown;
  • 20,000 renown;
  • or 25,000 renown
The newer an operator is, the more renown it'll cost.

Renown
Its the in-game currency, you get renown for doing pretty much everything in siege. Not complicated, play and you get renown.

The main playlists
  • New comer
  • Quick Match
  • Unranked
  • Ranked
  • Situations

Situations
The situations should be the first thing you do. doing them on normal and aiming for 3 stars on all of them will take some time, but it'll be worth it because you'll learn the maps, and the basic mechanics, aswell as a few different operators. All the while earning free renown.

New comer
New comer is the playlist for everyone that's new to the game, you cannot play new comer once you're above level 50. In new comer you'll encounter a few toxic people here and there, but just mute then thanks to the scoreboard and you'll be fine!

Quick match
This is the mixed bag of the games, ranging between sweaty tryhards to casual players that just enjoy the game. There won't be too many toxic people but simple mutes make it really easy to have fun and ignore them.

Unranked
This is where people expect you to be able to make callouts, know who does what, and tryhard. This is also where people will have their warmup before their several hour sweat session. It has the same rule set as ranked, but it doesn't count towards your ranked.

Ranked
This is where everyone is sweating as hard as they can to win because that's obviously what matters. Ranked = good at the game right? Well... sort of? The game will place you right about where it thinks you belong, you'll encounter the most spawn peeks, pixel peeks, ect in ranked.

Terrorist hunt
T-hunt is enjoyable, the lone wolf is where you can go if you don't want to wait a while, there aren't many people playing t-hunt on realistic. Realistic difficulty is going to be the most realistic because the bots will have human-like reaction time & aim.

Why I gave the scores what I did
Lets start with the gameplay, the gameplay is very fun, very different, and you will never have 2 of the same game in siege, but the gameplay can become very tedious which makes for some pretty stale games, which is why it got an 8. For enjoyability I found the game to be incredibly enjoyable, but it can be frustrating at times, but the amount I enjoyed it beats the frustration so that's why its a 7.5. In terms of graphics the game is incredibly optimized, and even with everything on low, it looks phenomenal. I have an intel i7-7700hq (8 cpus) ~2.8GHz and an Nvidia geForce GTX 1050 with 4021mb of vram. So I don't have an amazing pc, but with everything on low I'm hitting up to 200 frames in the menus and in game usually between 150 - 190. So the game is very playable on a low end system. That is the reason why I gave it a 9, getting a 10 would need it to be stunning and give ample amount of frames on the minimum settings.
