Very smooth gameplay

Great stealth game with a fun story and appropriately cheesy dialogue.

Very good strategy roguelite game with fun interactive puzzle-like gameplay. The game is elegantly simple once you get used to the concepts.

Ninja Saviors is fun remake of Natsumi's classic side-scrolling Beat 'em up. The pixel art has been redrawn and reanimated at high fidelity for a very appealing presentation. Each of the five Ninjas has their very own unique play style and combos which really makes it feel like you're playing a whole new game each time. All the moves are listed in the options and are easy to do with no complex fighting game inputs. Some of these moves capitalize on chaos, such as a multi hit combo that hits enemies behind you, turning being sandwiched into something positive. Personally I would start with Ninja (the big guy) as I felt he was very fitting for people learning the ropes.

The game unlocks a hard mode when you beat the final stage and you get a time attack option for each stage you clear. Each boss has badass design with unique patterns and playstyles, many of which give off 80's yakuza or martial arts film vibes.

If you like Beat 'em ups, fast paced moment-to-moment gameplay and replayability, I recommend Ninja Saviors as well as Natsumi's other titles on Steam.

A great remake of one of my personal favorite games ever. The Spencer mansion with it's gothic feel is one of the most atmospheric settings in any work of fiction. In this game you'll explore the mansion to rescue your SWAT team comrades, solve puzzles, avoid or kill zombies, mutants, and other creatures while uncovering a conspiracy years in the making. The game doesn't hold your hand, and you need to manage your inventory and watch your ammo usage to survive. The game isn't difficult per-say, it just has a learning curve. I strongly recommend you play as Jill for your first time play through as Chris mode assumes you already know the game pretty well. They have different intended play styles and kits that make the experience different. You'll have to backtrack ALLOT more as Chris if it's your first time playing because he has less inventory slots and more steps he has to do to navigate the mansion's obstacles. He takes more hits and is more combat oriented while Jill is more puzzle oriented, which is what this game is more about. Think of this game almost as a point n click adventure game with combat and better production values. I also recommend you play in the original aspect ratio as it shows the full prerendered camera angle and avoids the pan and scan camera movement.

Ok so here's the quality of life mods that I find pretty essential.

First we got the HD Upscale pack which greatly increases the game's prerendered world. Makes this one of the most beautiful games in the world:

^However I'd say you don't need the 1996 soundtrack mod.

The Door Skip mod is essential since many people don't like to wait for the animations to end, and while there is a door skip mod in the link above, I find this one is allot simple to install, you just drag and drop a file in the game's folder:

It only took a few levels before this became one of my favorite single player shooters ever. The incredible level design really makes you realize how lacking most modern shooters are in this department. The weapons are all very satisfying to use and the enemies are all fun to fight because they are animalistic and not a bunch of normal human soldiers with hitscan weapons.

I strongly recommend you install a source port for this title so it won't feel dated running in 320x240 in dosbox with weird controls. Personally I recommend vkQuake which is based on Quakespasm but uses Vulkan as it's renderer:

Installing it is real easy, all you gotta do is copy the "Id1"folder from your Quake install into the vkQuake folder. Oh and grab the soundtrack from this guide since the Steam version doesn't come with it, leaving the game quiet:

If you liked Symphony of the Night or the DS Castlevania games you'll feel right at home with RotN

The 16 year old franchise's latest entry. As of this writing this is the only Competitive eSport fps on the market. It requires discipline and being calm, and is a great practice of these aptitudes that people are now losing. Not dying is more important than killing, and playing the objective is the only way to have fun. I recommend fps_max 0, and both Motion Blur and V-Sync OFF. Insanely addicting. It's a randomly generated Metroidvania (very similar to Castlevania). It's like the Binding of Isaac of Castlevania, so expect lots of familar Castlevania enemies to appear (slightly different appearance of course) such as the Skeleton that throws bones, the slime that breaks into smaller slimes, etc. Like Binding of Isaac, when you die you start the game all over, but any blueprints you found in the castle can be purchased with the gold you find so you slowly get better.
