This game kicks winky hole in the best way. You add some QOL mods and you've got your self a 10/10 game you can play for as long as you can stomach the very pleasant grind.

There's cool and sexy aliens you can punch and love.

In short, this game is very good. It's one of the best RPGs I've ever played, even though It's not your typical fantasy driven one. It's very difficult at first, and unforgiving, but it makes up for it with an unequaled sense of accomplishment when you do manage to defeat the peasant in unarmed combat, or win the Rattay tournament.
The leveling system is rewarding, but not overly complicated. You get better at combat through leveling skills and taking perks yes, but the real improvement in your skills comes from practice with timing and positioning. You'll be a fully plated knight, but that doesn't mean that enough pitchfork wielding bandits can't completely overwhelm you.
The characters in the game are interesting and very well voiced, even though the dialogue animations leave quite a bit to be desired.
The game is sometimes buggy, and has its upsetting moments of unfairness due to things like terrain glitches in combat, but the game is well worth your time and money.
The only thing I really don't like is punching dogs until they die.

Between Steam, emulators, and my original PS1, I must have put 500 hours at least into this game.
It's my favorite Final Fantasy by far, the story is top notch, and the characters are well written.
The port to steam is also pretty damn good, I've had no issues at all.
Get it! It's pretty great.

Okay listen, it's buggy, and ready for a patch. It is also really fun, super engaging, it has a great story, and it actually is really beautiful most of the time. The skill tree and leveling system is super neat. Not super fresh, but fresh enough, and the combat feels pretty good. I wasn't even super hyped for the game, but decided to buy it day one and I don't regret it.
Oh and the ♥♥♥♥ cool.

This game is beautiful, in depth, and a great sim. I don't think you'll like it if you want a story or any sort of linear experience, it's very much an open world exploration game.
If you want to explore space unhindered, this game is for you.

Fun game. Very casual, very easy to learn. A+ because it's free.

Edit 2021: Game is even better now. I just started playing again and it seems to have fixed a bunch of these 'complaints'. Well worth now. Thanks Sean.


This game is great, but there are a lot of problems.
I only ran out of things to really do after 100 hours. So at 10 bucks for the game on sale, that's a dime an hour. Cheaper than arcade games in the 70's even. So yes, you should play it if it looks like your kind cup of tea.

The problems the game has arn't totally broken but they give off a feeling of lose ends and blank space. The campagin aspects feel rushed and incomplete and there are many missing aspects. The last teirs of crafting ingredients aren't used and some zones are unfinished and mostly empty. Those sound like really bad things that would ruin a game, but there's still a lot of things to do. Obviously, considering the hours I've put in.
The other con is that I don't think the Creator, Sean, is going to be putting much more work into it. He seems busy making some mobile game.

I'd say buy it, I really enjoyed it.
