We finally got overwatch 2

The novelty wears off, and it becomes a pretty generic open world thing after about 10 hours.
It's pretty to look at. It's fun it play for awhile, the dinosaurs look cool. But weapons, and looting, and exploring all fell flat for me, and I just couldn't force myself to care anymore.

The story is cool though, even if it leaves you hanging for far too long. If steam let me give a game a milquetoast middle of the road rating, I would.

Maybe the sequel is better.

This is poker 2: Electric boogaloo. It's digital crack.
Also runs great on the steam-deck, with touchscreen support and all.
100% recommend. Even if you don't like or understand how to make poker-hands, you'll very quickly pick it up.

This game is still in Early Access.
There's no banner on the store page, and paradox consider this a complete project - but in reality they released this in October 2023 in a half baked state, the centre of the game still completely uncooked - and 6 months later (at the time of writing this) it hasn't gotten drastically better. There's a lot that's still broken, or not in the game at all. They're pushing their own mod client, so no steam-workshop, and we'll have paid DLC before the game is actually finished.
And as a side note, my playtime hasn't tracked correctly on this game. I've put in about 25-30 hours or so.

It's now been a year - and the game is still fundamentally under-cooked, optimised and overall lacking in every department the first game excelled at. I genuinely do not think this game is worth anyone's money or time. I no longer have any faith in paradox. If you really must play this, there's other ways you can obtain it.

Edit 2: As of November 2024, They confirmed a third party injected a malicious file within a mod hosted on their mod platform. An issue that wouldn't have happened if they just used the Workshop. We've gotten no major updates as of the 15th - instead they've tried to push a few asset pack mods as content on a platform they just confirmed is insecure.
Just stay away - they've F'd it real good - and even if they release a huge patch tomorrow that fixes everything they promised they'd get around to, this publisher doesn't deserve our money and should just go under.

Fantastic game. Just buy it.

Hard to recommend right now, honestly.

There's been 3 battle passes this year alone.
over 150 dollars worth of extra costumes in the in-game-store.
The only way to buy the Season 1 Character pass is through the deluxe or ultimate editions.
All the DLC characters so far have been returners that 100% should've just been base roster to begin with.
Item packs in the store are split between "male" and "female" packs, but each pack contains items for all characters regardless - so you're forced to buy both if you want all of the sets actual content.
Rug pulled Heihachi's stage and charging money for it.

Just poor business decision after poor decision.
But the game is genuinely very fun. It's great, it feels great. The balancing needs work - but that's the nature of these things.

I'd still recommend the game if you're a fan of fighters - but it's a hard recommendation to give right now. If you're content to just buy the base game, and any DLC characters you want as they come out individually - It's some of the best Tekken has ever been.
But beware, I doubt bandainamco are likely to change course. This is the reality of live services in 2024.

It's Poke'Ark. It's really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun.
The copium from people who can't fathom that this is better than their 500 million dollar AAA games is the cherry on top.

I've put thousands of hours into step-mania over the last 15 years. Hundreds in various Project Diva games, hundreds of hours into OSU, plenty of time in Guitar hero, band hero etc. I love me some rhythm games.

This might be my new favourite. Easily. It'd be nice if the custom-mapping community was larger - and i'm typically not a huge fan of the genre of music that comes with the game, but there's plenty of good funky beats and custom songs to be had. I cannot recommend this game highly enough to rhythm game fans.

Please download the demo, get a good feel for it - then buy it.

Mods will fix it, eventually, maybe.
Wait for a sale.

It still needs time to cook and proper modding tools to shine, like all Bethesda titles. If you're on the fence, I'd wait until early 2024. Otherwise, it's also on gamepass.

Edit: It's nearing the end of 2024 and, and now we have a bad expansion. Don't buy this for anything other than on an 80% discount. The game is just fundamentally not very good.
