QUICK REVEW: If you're a fan of retro FPS shooters and shooting things till they die, this is the game for you!

LONG REVIEW:
ION Fury tells the story of officer Shelly 'Bombshell' Harrison who has just finished her shift and wants to get drunk and relax but is interrupted by the nefarious Doctor Doctor Heskel who wants to take over DC. Annoyed, angered and just at her limit, Shelly prepares to finally take down Heskel and his robot army once and for all!

PRESENTATION
The game has the classic, retro 90's design and it actually means 90. The world is both a combination of pixel graphics and actually solid material. Pick-Ups and Interactives are modeled and rendered, lighting effects light up Neo DC and the sound design and voice design is spectacular. The level environments are visually unique and feel refreshing instead of just 'industrial XYZ' all the time. Valerie Arem does a phenomenal job as Shelly by sounding both angry and satisfied at the same time and John St. Jon just kills his role of the Mad Doctor who gleefully chuckles at murder.

GAMEPLAY
If you've played Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior, Blood or any other 90's shooter then you'll fit right in at home. You must get from Point A to Point B and murder anything that stands in your way, whilst completing minor objectives such as getting keycards, defeating bosses and so on. You have a variety of weapons at your disposal, that also serve a secondary feature. The Shotgun can transform into a Grenade Launcher, the Crossbow can load up to fire 50 at once, the Submachine Guns can go Akimbo. Enemy variety is also nice, with loads of different types requiring strategy and careful placement instead of just unloading into them. For the first time you can actually headshot enemies, which deals a lot of damage (and can even kill them instantly) and makes aiming practical. Along with the shooting, there are secrets galore for you hunters, as well as achievements and survival modes for post-game antics.

MISC
My only complaint is that this game can feel unfair / insanely difficult at times as enemies are hitscanners and it can be hard to tell what is hurting you when the firefights occur *I played on Normal but had to go down a level.

OVERALL
If you love FPS games and want something new and refreshing, ION Fury is for you. It is fun, action-packed and is a game crafted with love and care.
