How can you not love Civilization? I mean know that is not much of an informative review, but then this is Civ. It is literally as old as Time, as a legacy game goes you know this one.

For those of new to gaming and perhaps just starting with this genre, it is an empire builder, turn based and one of the finest ever made. The vast array of different leaders and nations to play, the diversity of maps, rules, win conditions and settings is wide enough to make for some serious long term appeal and then add in the scenarios and this is a game that one can replay almost endlessly and still find new things.

My only real complaint would be the AI difficulty settings, but with the caveat that I think it cannot be helped. The challenge is increased basically by allowing the AI to cheat and I have never enjoyed that approach. There are a lot of people out there that insist that Deity is "easy" to beat, but I am just not seeing it; I like the Marathon play setting and all that seems to happen in any difficulty King or higher is that the AI nations end up decades ahead of me in tech and then on top of that somehow magically pull more units out of the ether just as I am getting them whittled down and that gets old fast.
