I don't remember a time when I didn't play video games. I was playing NES and the Sega Genesis before I could walk.

623 Hours played
Although I've logged under an hour on Steam, I've put about 30 hours into this game on the Xbox One, and I absolutely love it. I purchased the game on Steam and it would crash every time it tried to save. I tried every fix I could think of, and the fixes suggested by other players when I posted my problem on both the Steam Discussion Forums and the Stardew Valley subreddit. Nothing worked. I messaged the developer, Concerned Ape on Twitter and told him what was happening. He suggested several fixes, none of which worked. After a week of us talking back and forth, I finally told him that I would (sadly) request a refund for the game from Steam. He said that was understandable and apologized that he couldn't figure out the problem. A few days later, he sent me a free code for the game on Xbox One and I have been addicted to it since that time.

If you even remotely enjoy any of the Harvest Moon games you will love Stardew Valley. It combines elements of that series with the combat from Terraria and adds its own flair to the mix. This is a beautiful game and is incredibly relaxing. You can play at your own pace, and you are not obligated to do anything at all. There are minor daily quests available, some more important permanent quests, as well as community restoration projects that you can access via one of two different ways depending on what kind of playthrough you'd prefer to do. There is room for massive expansion, or you can go at a slower pace if you prefer. I started slow and went to the mine daily, and have explored all of the mine while my farm barely takes up 1/4 of the land available. Other people have a booming farm within the first month, but this just further emphasizes how free you are to do whatever you want to do in this game.

The soundtrack is neat but after the first 3-4 days of a season it gets kind of old, so I generally put something on TV while I play this game. It's a good winding-down kind of game. But it's also very easy to get into the "well, just one more day" mindset and before you know it, it's 3AM.
