I. Introduction
Heyo there, my name is Chris! Welcome to my profile. Here’s a bit of text for you to read through, at your convenience :))

You can probably already guess this, but I’m just another fellow who has a passion for gaming. Of course, everyday life has its tasks and errands to attend to. I’m a student who’s usually occupied with schoolwork, I’m the oldest brother who helps around managing the family… Officially, my parents restrict my gaming time to the weekends, but that’s when I usually have the most free time anyways!

Nonetheless, I’ve managed to express my passion for gaming outside of simply playing around. I am proud to have been a part of Play to Aid, a club I helped organize back in high school that shared our diverse interest in video games to the public and contributed to our greater mission of charity via money raised from our video game tournaments! Overall, I’ve found gaming to be a way for me to develop my social self and to connect with others, and I’m truly grateful for it. Maybe I'll try something like that in university, where I am now :D

Aside from video games, I also spend time learning/practicing musical instruments (piano and violin, but I’m still a beginner!), reading literature (whether it be dystopian classics or Japanese manga), talking with friends about anything, and watching anime!

What else is popping into my head?
- I absolutely love competition; it serves to be a great motivator for me in everything I do, reminding me there’s always a greater step to take. However, that doesn’t mean I perform amazingly in everything I do (CS:GO, anyone?) But I’m always striving for improvement!
- I am an aspiring pre-med student currently interested in ophthalmology (cornea transplants and laser technology, woah!). My ultimate goal is to contribute to others’ happiness through healthcare (while simultaneously keeping myself financially stable).
- And… I am eager to learn and try new things, so feel free to show me whatever you got (as long as it doesn’t endanger my well-being, of course!). In the meantime, let’s talk about lucid dreaming, rhythm video games, and anime recommendations!

And that’s just a small bit about me! If you friend me, I hope to get to know a bit about you as well :))

II. Laptop Specs
Yep, laptop. I’ve always wanted to build a PC of my own, but again, limits! For now, I’ll have to settle with what I’ve got:

Model - ASUS GA502DU (acquired Christmas 2019, substantial upgrade!)
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Ti with Max-Q Design
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3750H
RAM - 16 GB
Other - 500 GB SSD, 1080p screen w/ 120 Hz refresh rate

Laptop got nuked, unfortunately. Currently replaced with a work laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 3 / 82KU003NUS, not bad for its price!). Might not be able to play the latest and greatest, but it's more than enough for now. Gaming replacement sometime later, hopefully :))

With some peripherals:

Keyboard - Corsair K68 RGB w/ Cherry MX Reds (thanks, Harold :3)
Mouse - Logitech G703
Headset - Logitech G635
Drawing Tablet (primarily for osu!) - XP-Pen Star G640 (LINE FRIENDS Edition)

III. Games
I’ve got quite a few games in my Steam library and number more scattered across various platforms, but unfortunately, I haven’t played most of them! It’s a real bad habit of mine, but I do hope to see to everything eventually. I’ll go ahead and mention some of my favorites.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - One of my favorite games of all time. Quick-paced, strategy-based, quite entertaining, and fun with friends, putting aside that the game can be toxic, full of hackers and smurfs; and to top it off, I’m not so great at the game! The highest competitive rank I’ve ever achieved is Silver Elite, but I am currently ranked as unranked, haven't played in a while! Will I ever escape Silver...?

osu! - My favorite music rhythm game; heck, it even introduced me to the genre. Music, hand-to-eye coordination, circles… What else can you ask for? Free and also easy to run, too! Started out as a mouse player, but then transitioned into tablet/keyboard style; I usually single-tap, but I’ve recently picked up alternating. 3,150pp as of 3/10/2021.

osu!mania - One of the four gamemodes of osu! but I thought I'd mention it separately. I find these vertically scrolling rhythm games (e.g. VSRGs, like Dance Dance Revolution, Sound Voltex, and of course, osu!mania) quite enjoyable! Currently playing it more than osu!standard, 2,848pp as of 3/10/2021.

Super Smash Bros. - I’ve played them all, but I mostly spend time with Ultimate and Melee! I absolutely love the competitive spirit that this game can show, but it’s also a fun game to play and mess around with when friends are over. My Melee mains include Marth and Falco, while my Ultimate mains include Inkling and a ton of secondaries! I’ve got Switch Online (and I plan to set up Slippi when I can!), let’s play some time!

Minecraft - Lots of flashbacks here. Probably my first favorite game, so many good memories. I still play from time to time, just to see what's new. It’s always nice to unleash your imagination and creativity!

IV. Advice for Anyone
"If you can dream it, you can do it." - Walt Disney

"A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new." - Albert Einstein

"BELIEVE AND YOU WILL ACHIEVE" - ME (2016)

V. Thanks for Visiting!
Did you get through all of that? That’s pretty amazing! Hope you’ve enjoyed your time here.

Maybe I’ll see you around :^)

If you ask Rick Astley for a copy of the movie "UP", he cannot give you it as he can never give you up. But, by doing that, he is letting you down, and thus, is creating something known as the Astley Paradox.
