Brilliant scenario filled with poetry, dealing with the relation of machines to human feelings and with the eternal cycle of life and death.

The gameplay is very decent, and very varied, it will please the old school gamers for sure.

The main interest remains the scenario. Yoko Taro's a real genius if you ask me.

What about the [E]nd ? *wink*

It was simply THE perfect conclusion, it left me speechless.

NieR Automata opened with a sequence where the members of our YoHRa's squad were killed one by one. In the ending [E] (the one & only ending actually), NieR Automata ends with an opposite movement, a squad gradually recomposed, no longer by YoHRa's androids but by real players who fight together against the game itself (fight against the game's credits).

This opposite movement ends the infinite cycle of life and death of which 2B speaks at the beginning of the game.

At this very moment, the characters (you as "the player" included) become the true authors of this end, thus they complete the great process of humanization of the machines that passes through the game.

NieR Automata, who seemed to carry the weight of a single personality (Yoko Taro's) ends surprisingly as an ode to plurality.

Then when we go beyond the last line of credits, we realize that all these unknown friendly players were people who sacrificed their backups to be reborn as protective mates. We are now questioned: do we want to erase our game file in order to help a perfect unknown player, who may be a d**che ? Yes, because we have confidence. [/spoiler]
