Hello @bordinator, unlike RF4, in RF5 town event is always available to you, the caveat is you need to see each characters' events before you can progress to the character you want.

As for the story, the only thing limiting you progressing to the next arc is your ability to tackle the dungeon.

You do however have to wait until you finish the main story before you can trigger the marriage event

Hello Blurmp! I see you have played a lot of hours on Rune Factory 5. I loved RF4S except for the part where important events like marriage and start of next arc was randomized to trigger, which really disappointed me and took way too much resets for me. Would you know by any chance that this is still the case on RF5?
