Basically just an asset flip/template game.
It's not even worth it to go over the details of this game.
If it means anything, I bought it on-sale for $0.79 USD and I still got a refund.

This is a fantastically addictive, deceptively simple, highly customizable arcadey hack & slash.

While the game takes just a little bit of learning to figure out how the various combat skills function and interact with each other, once you figure it out the game gets exponentially easier I think.
Despite my playtime stating ~29 hours (at time of writing), in reality I have nearly 35+ (now ~54 hours technically). Unfortunately a 17 hour play session didn't get logged because my internet cut out. Yes, One 17 hour session.

While there may not necessarily be a ton of 'content' in terms of overall experience/story/etc, there's myriad weapons and equipment to play with, and even more customizable combat skills that get augmented even further by your gear choices.
Though some may find the arcadey nature of the game to be repetitive, I for one enjoy it for the pick-up and play sort of quality it offers. Especially with the ability to save & quit mid-run without penalty.

Some players have made complaints about the ability to rebind controls or lack thereof. While not strictly necessary, as the games entire action-builder menu is all about configuring your controls/abilities however you like. I can see the argument to be made for default control configuration. At time of writing, upon death all your skills will be reset, meaning if you were to bind your dash skill to any button other than the games default, you will have to redo so between each run.
Ultimately not the end of the world, but it does make deaths a bit finicky if you play with a customized move set normally.
The ability to rebind default keys was added in a recent update.

As far as bugs go, aside from infrequent minor graphical glitches, I have yet to encounter anything that really impacts gameplay.

All things considered, for $10 I think the game is an absolute steal.

An artful genuinely quite enjoyable beat 'em up side-scroller that suffers more than a few mildly annoying bugs & glitches and some mild game balance issues. Most of which is readily and easily remedied.
As well the game is somewhat short and relatively lacking in certain areas. Certainly room for improvement.

The art direction in the game is absolutely magnificent. While the explicit style may not appeal to all, the character designs are distinct and varied and the cinematic work is unique, interesting, and dynamic.

My first playthrough I 100% the game in just over 7.5 hours, and my 2nd playthrough I was able to beat in just under 4.5 hours on the hardest difficulty. Suffice to say the game is not terribly long.
Personally I could care less about the story, but that's not to say it's necessarily bad. I think the general themes and idea's are endearing however the plot is pretty simple if not altogether predictable. That being said I feel the game is a 'game-first, story-second' sort of game, Which is fine and probably for the best.

Speaking of gameplay, it's reasonably solid out of the box, but is best enjoyed with the use of accessibility settings which allow a player to enable/disable certain game functions, and as well tweak difficulty elements to ones liking, such as enemy/player attack speed, enemy health, attack-canceling, etc. In my opinion this is almost necessary as the game has some mild balance issues sort of across the board. Not a deal breaker per se, but as stated previously the accessibility options are a must to rectify those issues.
On a vaguely related topic the game also suffers from various mildly annoying UI animation issues. Put simply certain UI animations/confirmations just take way too long to complete. One specific example being the level-up animation which sits on-screen for probably a solid 6 seconds for no reason. As well a similar issue with item pickup confirmations. As petty a complaint as that may sound, that's just one example of the sort of minor annoyances some might encounter. Again, not a deal breaker per se, but I can see something like this souring a persons experience, like stray hairs in an otherwise competent soup.
As well the game has its slew of assorted bugs and glitches, such as falling through the world or getting stuck in objects/terrain when using the teleporter, UI elements getting stuck on-screen, items becoming unable to be picked up, etc. Most are easily remedied by either fast-traveling, loading into a new stage, or other simple fixes, so nothing really game-breaking.

Lastly the game lacks any NG+ options, challenges, or collectibles. While not strictly necessary of course as the game is plenty enjoyable without it, but with how quickly I was able to experience everything the game has to offer, it's hard not to want for more. Of course I wouldn't necessarily count that against the game, but it would certainly be a welcome addition. Personally I really want the Pajama's worn by the twins when sleeping as unlockable clothing cuz Jenn's PJ's are adorable. But that's neither here nor there.

At the end of it all, I do think the game is reasonably enjoyable for $25 despite any minor annoyances or issues present.
But here's hoping the developers tweak/patch what needs, and possibly even add additional content.

Tutorial quest bugged out, didn't spawn key components to progress.
Game crashes & freezes when saving.
Gameplay is painfully slow and underwhelming.
Gunplay is barely mediocre.

I like the idea, but putting it bluntly the game just sucks.

1 dev or not, this game is nowhere near $14, Not even $11.89 on sale.

It's what The Last Stand: Aftermath should have been, 100%.

The base game on Survival is a reasonably realistic zombie apocalypse survival/sim that is brutal and grueling, which isn't inherently bad. The game takes a little bit of time to learn and figure out but once you get your bearings, survival becomes noticeably easier, at least when the game isn't deliberately trying to kill you.
On that note, the game features an AI director similar to L4D wherein it will dynamically alter probabilities and create little events or occurrences to attempt to spice up the gameplay or challenge you more. For me unfortunately I find it almost insultingly brutal. It has its moments, but more often than not it just feels like the game is punishing you for no reason.
But again I suppose that is the point of the game; "hardcore" survival.
But I can't complain too much because the game does have a 'Sandbox Survival' difficulty which allows you to configure all the backend game options including the AI director to better suit your preferred play style. So no more getting dolphin dived by zombies over fences every time there's more than one zombie nearby. Though the AI director does still love to jam my well-maintained weapon every other shot when I have more than a few zombies near me. But I digress.

With mods and workshop support as well, the game becomes increasingly more enjoyable (for me at least), allowing me to add additional weapons, gear, mechanics, and functionalities that help me create my preferred zombie RP slaughterfest experience.

Long story short Project Zomboid is if nothing else exceptionally interesting, detailed, in-depth, and involved, as well as seductively masochistic and pleasantly visceral.
If you've been let down by every other survival sandbox since Arma 2 DayZ mod, then Project Zomboid will get you off scratch that itch.

At one point I used to recommend this game, however updates over time have slowly made this game significantly less enjoyable to play, even in spite of some positive changes/additions.

Without going into detail on all the changes, the simplest explanation is that the dev(s) seem to prefer nerfs to buffs when it comes to balancing. So instead of making everything else more fun to use, they tend to just make things that are already fun to use as equally useless or boring as anything else instead.
While in of itself is not the end of the world as a thoughtful build can help compensate for poor design choices, it fails to address the core issue(s).

As well especially the straw that broke the camels back is the latest winter update which brought with it sweeping changes to guns and mechanics, including completely neutering the Recon class with an utterly useless ability.

I've been trying my hardest to give this game the benefit of the doubt but in spite of all my playtime I can honestly say that my enjoyment of this game continually decreases with every update and change.
I think the only change I've enjoyed is not having to run around to gather EXP (and instead being awarded EXP directly). Other than that, I can't think of a single change that's actually made the game better in any regard.

$20 or not I no longer think this game is a worthwhile investment as the game only gets progressively worse with every update.

Sure glad gameplay took a backseat in an Action RPG.
While the general world space and setting seems genuinely quite interesting and unique, considering the core aspect of the game barely even functions, I refuse to subject myself to the torment necessary to overpower the inherent jank of the game to find out when it gets good, if it ever does.
While it's not even worth it to go super in-depth, let me just describe my limited experience that forced me make up my mind.
During some of my first combat encounters, where dodging and parrying become relevant, the game would do that thing most games do while they tutorialize you. Which is to slow or stop time, tell you to do the thing they're trying to teach you (RMB to Block/Parry, Double tap a direction to dodge, etc). So I follow the tutorial, double tap to dodge or block/parry, aaaand I still get hit and lose 90% of my health or instantly die anyway.
So what the game is telling me is that even if I do everything right, even with the game quite literally freezing time to allow me to input at the right time, I still take damage and or die. So core combat mechanics straight up do not work, period.
On a related note of Jank ruining the gameplay experience, so by default, double tapping a direction forces you to dodge-roll. Fair enough, and to my surprise there's even an option to toggle that function in case you don't want that to happen. Awesome! Or so I thought. Because for some ungodly reason this option can not be disabled. Why even include it in the options menu at that point? It's basically just a "♥♥♥♥ You". And maybe you get some skill or ability or something stupid later, or maybe it's tied to difficulty for some reason, but again I ask, why?
So suffice to say, for any experienced action platformer, dodge-rolling every time you go to slightly adjust your position is insanely infuriating. Especially when the movement itself is already fairly janky so trying to perfectly position yourself is hard enough already.
If all this rambling is to say anything, that is that this might be one of those games where if you can put up with the horrible game design and jank long enough, you might be able to find an autisitcally pleasurable experience somewhere in this dumpster fire. But if you care even the slightest bit about having a game that's actually enjoyable to play, this ain't it chief.

A reasonably fun and interesting game, weapon customization seems interesting, controls make me want to vomit, weapon handling seems inconsistent and at times make me want to smash my controllers.

So the Zombie horde shooting aspect of the game is reasonably quite fun, love me a classic zombie shooter.
However any special infected for whatever reason just 1-shot you all the time no matter what? Which seems like a gross oversight. I played by myself with AI team-mates, and while they were competent enough most of the time, they could not save me from a Juggernaut grab to save their lives, or mine for that matter. This compounded by the fact that the movement is super clunky as the controls can never seem to remember if you're sprinting or not, so sometimes you go to sprint away from or out of the way of a Juggernaut charge, but you slow-walk instead and just get grabbed/killed. Same issue with the Smasher's. All their attacks 1-shot and when the game randomly forces you to walk, it's just a death sentence.
And the controls, as another review put it, it's like the developers looked at all the advancements in VR technology, controls, and control schemes since Arizona Sunshine and just decided to ignore it all. Why? I have no earthly clue, but gross incompetence is my best guess. For starters, holding any object requires you to (playing on Gen1 Vive with Vive wands) hold the grip buttons down at all times to maintain grip on anything except guns (which is a miracle). With one exception being if you're using your off-hand to grab your current weapon (handguns and long-guns), as soon as you let go of the grip button, your hand jumps off the gun. This is especially annoying when using long-guns as you have to keep constant pressure on that grip-button to even be allowed to continue holding the gun, let alone hold it steady. Pistols are less noticeable as most can be wielded with ease using only 1 hand.
Reloading is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare too. It's as though nobody on the dev team has ever held or reloaded a firearm or magazine in their life. The grip angle for the mag is the most inhuman thing I've seen in my life, and actually getting it into the gun is clunky as all hell. Also while not entirely awful, the grip angle on handguns can be slightly better, it's just a little too high.
Suffice to say, with all these awkward and un-ergonomic controls and control methodology, this game is severely taxing on your arms and fingers to play even for short periods of time.
Additionally in regards to weapon handling or lack thereof.
I am an exceptionally good shot in VR, and despite my issues with the controls in this game I was still able to make reasonably consistent shots for the most part. However on occasion I noticed 1 shot would go wide of where I was aiming for seemingly no reason. While not an immense issue one way or the other, it did make it quite frustrating when trying to clear a small group of enemies.

At the end of it all, the game itself is reasonably fun for the short period of time before the fatigue sets in, but as far as VR shooters go, I'll stick with H3VR, which is somehow still leagues ahead of any modern titles in terms of VR guns.

Wait to buy.
Even at $20 the game offers very little in terms of the overall promised experience.
The only genuinely interesting facet of this game is the procedural water simulation, but even that is pretty inconsequential with what's in the game currently.
At best this is a $20 tech demo with a little bit of gameplay right now.
I've more-or-less completed all of the available content at around only 3 hours in.
Additionally, performance is a touch choppy here or there. A few bugs now and again such as resources not properly destroying or providing resources, movement bugs, ui bugs, etc.
As stated before, wait to buy.

Normally I'm very cynical about game releases, especially indie ones.
However Unsighted is down right fantastic.

The story for me is sort of 'whatever'. What's there isn't terribly deep, complex, or nuanced, but it's also not terrible. It does what it needs to do.
The gameplay is phenomenal. The combat is super fluid, chaining combo's, parries, and your various abilities feels super natural and responsive. The movement is super clean.
On top of that, there's myriad 'chips' which you can equip to augment and enhance your preferred combat techniques and styles.
One gripe is that later in the game, switching between certain mobility items and your weapons can be a bit of a nuisance as you progress through certain areas.
Game has various modifiers/enhancements/features which you can toggle on/off depending on your preferred gameplay experience. (i.e. increased stamina, turn off time-limit, etc)
You can progress through the world in pretty much any form or fashion you prefer, in fact there's even an achievement for killing the main bosses in reverse order.
I played this game 10 hours straight the first day I had it.
Hands-down one of the best games I've played all year, without question.
