Hell yeah,
Hell yeah,
Hell yeah.

Pros
- Combat is very satisying
- Story is intresting
- Decent voice acting
- Beautifully animated/Awesome art
- Not super grindy
- Not super difficult/unfair

Cons
- Simplistic combat (Could be pro, depending on what you're looking for)
- Limited upgrades (Which isn't terribly bad, just don't expect a huge skill tree or anything, it's just stat buffs)
- Gameplay can get a little repetetive (Again, not terribly bad, but it's a very casual experience)
- Cirromon Caverns (You'll know when you play the game)

Hell yeah,
Hell yeah,
Hell yeah.

Bottom line: It's like if Deviant Art the game was made and was actually a good game.

It's not even worth it to go into full detail about what specifically makes this game bad.
However just as a quick short-list, the UI & Menus are sub-par, Character design is extremely limited and boring, controls are quite possibly the worst thing I've ever seen, Audio quality is mediocre at best, Combat is clunky and immensely unsatisying, and the general game-mechanics don't fit well with the game world.

I'd give this game a solid 2/10, and that's being generous.
1 point because the art style isn't so bad, and 1 point for being F2P.

Seriously don't waste your time unless you're intentionally looking for bad games to play.

Used to play the original AQ way back when. A little disappointed in Artix.

To put it bluntly, it's a terrible mobile-mmo with half-way decent PC support and strongly encouraged micro-transactions.
If you're looking for a new MMO to bide your time with, keep walking. Might I suggest a few, much more entertaining options, such as; Vindictus, Dragons Nest, Blade & Soul, Wild Star, Trove, or whichever one you played and enjoyed last?

Look, I kinda wish this game were better. I always liked how casual AQ & AQW felt, but this game just doesn't do the rest of the series any justice, granted yeah it's early access, buuuut I feel like most of the current issues are core-game problems that can't exactly just be 'fixed' or 'tweaked' without rebuilding the game from the ground up. So it goes without saying that I don't see this game becoming much better over time. If it's a 3/10 now, at best when it's complete, I'd say it might be a 3.5/10, MAYBE a 4/10 if they really add something amazing to it.

You like Harvest Moon? You want more Harvest Moon? Stardew Valley.
That's not to say this game is a straight up Harvest Moon ripoff, because it's not. However at it's core, it scratches that same itch every Harvest Moon player has, plus more.

I mean honestly there's not much else to say about this other than, "It's more Harvest Moon than Harvest Moon ever was." Because it does everything Harvest Moon does, but a little bit better, and a little bit more. Plus it's on PC, so you don't have to go and buy some old used console or download an emulator just to get that Harvest Moon itch scratched. Have I said Harvest Moon enough yet? Harvest Moon.

All-in-all, it was a very enjoyable game.

Pros:
- Killer sound-track (Kind of necessary for a rythm game)
- Interesting concept
- suprisingly fun gameplay
- Story's not bad
- Very satisfying once you learn the mechanics

cons:
- Not really a fan of the dialogues/voiceovers
- Personalities of the characters feels sort of...childish?
- A little difficult to get used to the mechanics
- A lot of information to take in on-screen and it can be difficult to focus
- (Maybe it's just me?) I found this game to be truly exhausting to play because of how hard I had to focus in order to play effectively (Sort of ties in with the previous point.)
- It can be very difficult to do guitar parts on higher difficulties on a keyboard (My fingers are already clumped up on WASD and you expect me to do constantly changing chords in rapid succession? Or to shred up and down the 'fretboard'? ♥♥♥♥ that noise.)

Even those that last point probably sounds like I'm really complaining, it's honestly not that big of a deal. Let me put it this way, I was able to beat the entire game on Normal with relative ease. A couple songs gave me a little trouble, but it only took me a couple of tries for those trouble songs. However, if you want a REAL challenge, Hard will give you just that. Buut if you really can't be bothered, Easy is about as baby-mode as baby-mode can get.

So, yes, I absolutely recommend this game, as I thoroughly enjoyed it and any problems I had with the game were almost entirely my own, and not necessarily any fault of the game.

Oh, one final note; I wouldn't mind either a Metronomicon 2, or more actual DLC. Also I think the ability for user-created songs/beat-maps would be absolutely fantastic. Just added that with a recent update. Hell yeah!

If you're familiar with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Free-to-play, Pay-to-win FPS, then you already know what's up.

Normally I don't bother to recommend/not recommend Free-to-play games as they are, "Free". However for the extra bad ones, or extra good ones, I like to at least add my two cents.
Long story short, poorly balanced, possibly the worst netcode I've ever seen, wildly inconsistent firing patterns, even worse menu design. All-around terrible game. Any other F2P FPS is a significantly more qualified substitution for this game. And that's not even mentioning how long it took me to even get the damn game to run.

Seriously, just don't even waste your time.

[Note] Hear me out, there's a damn good reason this review is so long even though I don't recommend it. Like, I'm not just hating on it for no reason.

Despite the fact that steam says I've only played 27 minutes, I have played more as I was without internet for a little while and logged a decent amount of playtime then, however it didn't seem to log the time in steam. Anyways, on with the review.

Let me just start off by saying that I don't 'hate' this game, but seriously don't even bother wasting your time with it. It's fairly cheap, sure, but even that doesn't justify buying the game. Oh, and hear me out before giving this a thumbs down, like I said I don't hate the game, but I'm trying to be objective here.

The menus are a bit clunky, not exactly difficult to navigate or anything like that, just lacks certain... ease of use functionalities that I've grown acustomed to with better designed games. Of course I understand "Small indie studio, Early access, don't expect it to be perfect blah blah blah" but regardless of whatever excuses or justification, it doesn't change the fact that it does make the game that much more difficult to enjoy. This includes inventory management, crafting, storage, hotbar, using/binding skills & equipment, etc.

Movement is a little messed up. The game is setup in an isometric sort of style, but the character doesn't move along the same axis as the world, which makes it really annoying to try and follow a path or navigate the world. Mind you, it's not 'that' far off, but it's off enough where you'll absolutely notice it, and if you're a stickler for game-feel like me, it will drive you mad.

Combat; Before I say anything, I just want to clarify again, I don't 'hate' this game, but I'm just gonna go off in a little rant here. The combat in this game is about as satisfying as a fleshlight lined with sandpaper; It only feels good if you're part of the really niche audience that somehow enjoys that, or if you have no clue what a normal fleshlight feels like. So the combat 'works', but the hitbox is sort of glitchy, or so it would seem. There have been times where I had tried to slash at an enemy, but after the enemy moved in closer, it would be "outside" of my sword range, despite literally standing on my toes. Now perhaps this is an issue only I've experienced, I don't know, but I think it's definitely worth mention. Never tried Ranged combat or Magic because I just didn't have the patience to get that far.

Basebuilding is kinda goofy. For instance, I was able to build a floor, door, chest, workbench, roof, windows, a garden, and an alchemy table, all before I was able to build walls. Yup, spent most of my time playing without walls, but thank god I had an alchemy table right? Not to mention learn telepathy to hold my roof up. Boy oh boy, I knew how to levitate a giant wooden roof and brew complex potions before I knew how stack wood. Plus the floor/roof tiles are pretty large, which, in my opinion makes the building system pretty boring and leaves very little to creative freedom. But that's neither here nor there. Not to mention when trying to place something that has multiple variants (colors, different placement angles, etc.) you just had to scroll with no indication of what's coming up or what you've already past, just a number. Again, neither here nor there, but just another small thing that makes this game 'that' much more difficult to enjoy.

One of the last points is the games difficulty. Mind you, I'm not saying the game is "difficult" per se, but it feels like it's half-in/half-out of the pool of hardcore survival. In general this game seems/seemed like it was going to be a pretty light/casual open-world survival game, however with small inventory stacks (10 per stackable item), and relatively scarce resources (scarce in terms of how much you need versus how easy it is to gather quickly), it makes the game feel as though it's trying for more of a hardcore survival feel. Now before anyone says, "UGH It's not that hard to gather resources you just suck!" I know, I agree with that first part, it's not particularly difficult to gather resources, but at the same time when I have to spend an entire (in-game) day gathering grass just so I can fill my hunger bar or gather marshmallows to refill my HP, that's a little rediculous. Regardless very early on I figured out it's much easier to just let my character die and respawn than to actually keep myself fed or healed, and that's not a good thing for any player to decide for any game. And again, "Early access blah blah" doesn't change the fact of what the game is right now and whether or not I would recommend it right now, which I wouldn't.

On a brighter note, I do think the artstyle is pretty cute. The game itself is aesthetically pleasing, with a consistent art-style and nice colors. Not to mention the soundtrack is pretty good too. So kudos to the art and music designers. Unfortunately those are the only commendations that come to mind.

TLDR; On a scale from 0-10 where a 7 = buy the game, this game is a solid 6 and a half. Generally not a particularly enjoyable game, but it's not horrible, it's cheap, and it looks nice and has 7.8/10 music.

One way I would put it; In an age where so many indie developers intentionally release ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games to scam money out of people, these developers don't seem villainous, just inexperienced, and not even terribly so, just a little bit.

I bought this game 5 Years ago

Want to know what's changed or been added since then?

Hardly anything.
They've come out of Early Access finally, but this game still feels, looks, and plays the exact same as the day I bought it.

They haven't seemed to fixed any of the general gameplay balacning, or mechanical issues that have existed for as long as I've owned the game, and yet somehow they seemed to have made it even worse in some cases. Nothing about this game has really advanced or evolved to any meaningful level.

There was a time where I would've wholeheartedly stood behind this game as having the potential to completely overshadow every other game of its genre, but instead I guess the developers took all their time and money and wasted it on hookers and blow or something and finally just said, "♥♥♥♥ it we're done with the game. 1.0 baby!"

For anyone to be a fan of this game, they'd have to have stockholm syndrome or something because if you ask me, the whole development life-cycle of this game is more disgusting and offensive than the whole No Man's Sky controversy.
3 Years and Hello Games added a plethora of content, reworks, rebalances, gameplay changes, entirely new mechanics, among other things.
5 Years I've owned this game and they added.... weapon mods? Helicopters? Maybe a couple tweaks to base-raiding? A couple guns/updated gun models?

Don't waste your money.

Note: I just had a look at the Hurtworld presskit page and read "Online and LAN multiplayer, with tight, responsive FPS controls " and I couldn't have laughed harder. The FPS controls/mechanic are absolute ♥♥♥♥♥. I've played mobile-games with better FPS controls/mechanics/balancing. I can understand the need to be confident in your own product, but you can not objectively compare this game against a single other FPS and be like, "Yeah, this is comparable quality". For cryin' out loud I've played games on ♥♥♥♥♥♥' ROBLOX with better FPS controls/mechanics.
Bit of a tangent, but to tout that as a feature, that's just a shameless and blatant lie.

Read just about any other negative review of this game, and that about sums it up. "An early access game with potential, but don't waste your money."
