Vertigo Set the bar to beat for early VR single player games.
Vertigo Remastered Brought out the absolute best and showed what Zach could do.
Vertigo 2 builds on what has come before. It's bigger, better, and packed with lots more content and variety than the first game/s. From environments, story-telling, enemies, weapons and some fantastic boss fights.

Vertigo 2 really shows off what can be done by a solo independent dev, providing a better experience than many games with a large studio behind them.
It's one of those games that everyone who plays PCVR should own.

Disclaimer - I have been a beta tester for this game, and received it for free.
- Blame me if you find any game breaking bugs I missed, I guess.

I haven't made it very far in this game.

Skipping the tutorial (I did it before in a "demo") breaks the game and has certain things not work - like teleporting to the first location just instantly kills you.
So I had to go back and do the tutorial again.
The menu is huge, so you can't see it all at once, the movement is both slow and sluggish.
Hits with weapons are... alright, but don't carry much weight. You feel like you're just flailing.
You can throw your weapons at the enemies, which would work better if it was either just a throw, or, and I can't believe I'm recommending this, a point and click, as if it were shooting a gun. Instead, it's some weird hybrid, where the direction is based off the angle of your hand as you let go, and it only cares that your hand was moving - this can lead to throwing when you don't mean to.
The aim point doesn't line up properly with Index controllers either, so it is hard to get shots "on target"
Speaking of shots, the same problem happens with the guns. They don't line up well with the Index controllers.
They also give you two guns, but only 6 bullets... why have two guns then? I guess this can be upgraded, but off the bat, it's not really a useful tool.
Considering that one of the two character's shown in the game art is dual wielding the guns, I would have thought that being a ranged focused character with the guns (maybe low damage but ranged) would be viable. It just isn't.
Reloads are painful as well. The guns only hold three bullets at a time. you swing your arm down to break open the gun, and back up again to close. Easy enough. Only there's a delay of a couple of seconds for an animation to play of the bullets going in the gun, that is both non-immersive and messes with the movement you want to do - which is to get back to the action, if you're not going to be doing the reloading yourself.

As for the gameplay? Once you get past the tutorial, ignore the shops that you can't use because you're new, you get to make some progress, into a very pretty, hall, which is just a wave combat.
Which I guess would be fine, but then while you're focusing on the handful of skeletons in front of you, the game decides to shoot you in the back, literally, with skeleton archers coming onto elevated platforms behind you.
So you shoot them with your guns, run out of ammo before you can kill the second, and try to throw your axe at the second, but because it's above you, it hits the edge of the platform instead, because it has a long handle that interferes.
Now, due to the spawn time of the axe not being instant, you're left groping behind your shoulder for your only remaining weapon to come back while you're both being shot at, and trying to dodge the enemies you were trying to use that weapon on before.

I got through a couple of waves of this, and decided to call it a day.

Where to begin... The game is BEAUTIFUL. Easily the best looking title I've seen in VR.
The paddling is modelled accurately - or at least as accurately as possible considering we don't have force-feedback rigs.

It feels so nice to just go out on the water and chill.

And then you also have the chance to put your skills to the test in the races, and boy do you build up a sweat.

Definitely worth the price tag, 100%.

Really nice puzzle game.
The puzzles can get a bit same-ish but the environments are different enough to keep it fresh.
Hands are the wrong way around with Index (uses right hand model for left hand, and vice versa) but otherwise plays fine.
Walking is so slow, I instantly switched to teleport... it's a shame you can't change that. Also a shame you can't use smooth turning. Or even snap turning. But it's a slow paced game, so untangling your wire from time to time isn't a problem.

Only 4 hours. I got it on sale, and would recommend doing so too. But I would definitely recommend getting it.

While it can be a bit frustrating, lacking tools to find things you might need at times (hunting through a debris field for power nodes, and then running low on oxygen on fuel which you also then have to hunt for - a radar, or a known source for the latter two that you can return to would make a world of difference) this is nontheless stunning short experience.
It takes a while to get used to the controls, but once you have done so, flying in zero gravity feels /almost/ strightforward.
Both reactor scenes are a little awkward, but the rest of the experience was quite fun.

I don't really know what to say here... I've played half an hour, and I've already had major issues. Soft-locked myself in room where enemies were supposed to kill me in one hit - but I killed them, and was just locked in.
melee is just... waggle the weapon in the direction of the enemy.
There's barely any enemy feedback when shot / hit. Sometimes there is just none.
Weapon selection is a pain in the ass, having to cycle through items.
Weapon doesn't consistently change to being a hand to pick items up.

It just wasn't fun to play.

Surprisingly fun, great to play as part of a group.
Just... don't expect guns to behave as their historical counterparts should. If you're in to gun mechanics, stay away.
If you're into slaying a lot of the undead, with a comedical 1930s narrator, then By Jove! you should get this game.
