A simple and nice top-down 2D Adventure game

This game has nice graphics, It's simple and straight to the point where you just spawn and then you have the simplest of the tutorials: some dialogue telling you what to do, and then you go to your adventure.
Now this is also a top-down shooter game, but It's better to actually save your ammo because you'll need it for the bosses, but you also don't have to worry about that too much. Every time you run out of ammo there will be a box falling through the sky with ammo for you, I still recommend saving it so you can get through the bosses quickly.

The game can be quite difficult too, you can only have 3 lives per run and there is no save so if you die the game restarts. Also some bosses are really defensive with obstacles protecting them.
Throughout the game you can collect crackers which serves as a coin, I really recommend you to spend this money on ammo or lives but only if you have less than 3.
You also have power-ups, some kind of sci-fi artifact that looks like a rocket but not really, those things can really help you because they do a lot of damage, I recommend using them on the bosses.

Achievements: The game is rather easy to 100%, most of the achievements will get in your way as you progress the game, and they are satisfying to obtain. You might need to finish the game twice, but that's alright since it's very short. It's always a good idea to read the achievements description to know exactly what you have to do, well with the exception of the last boss that grants you two achievements which you just have to get killed by the boss spaceship explosion after It's destroyed, and on your second playthrough you have to avoid the explosion. and the "Penguin!" achievement, Description: "It hides somewhere...". That is also an odd one, I didn't quite understand how how I found it, but I did. I think it appears when you start your third playthrough (You don't have to complete it, you just have to see it), It'll be somewhere in the beginning area i think. You'll find it, it'll be just chilling enjoying life, you'll see it and that's all for the "Penguin!" achievement.

I really enjoyed the area near the end of this game, it makes a good change of scenery. There, you'll find some obstacles and some nice challenges. I really enjoyed the overall scenery and art style of this game.

Overall: I really recommend this game especially if you enjoy adventure games and want an interesting experience, it has nice graphics, good pixel-art style, I recommend it.

A good third-person 3D Platformer/Adventure game

A very good 3D adventure game that surprisingly has a lot of content for its simple gameplay, and even though there aren't many mechanics and features in it, we can still talk about them and we can also talk about the design in this game, I really enjoyed my time in this, and the art and soundtrack made it look even better.

Gameplay - Story - Mechanics - Features

The Gameplay: It's as simple as it gets, You go from point A to B and It's mostly focused on a platformer adventure game. There are collectables, the Frogun mechanic, creatures as enemies, and bosses in certain areas.
Inside each level you'll be collecting coins and some other types of collectables. You can spend your coins in the shop, buying hats to use and some paintings to admire.

The Story: A simple story about having to rescue your parents, there is nothing more unusual than that, throughout the game you'll met two more friendly characters. The story works well because the main purpose is for you to progress through the levels while being a classic fun adventure game.

The Frogun Mechanic: As you would've guessed the Frogun is the main mechanic in this game, it allows you to grab and throw things and it also let's you use it as a hook, for example: you can shoot at a wall with the Frogun and get pulled towards that direction. It's a nice mechanic.

The collectables: In every level you'll have collectables, most of the levels will have the following:

A different number of coins for each level - useful to buy hats and paintings.
1 note - It talks about the adventure itself or some character in the game.
2 Gems - Collectables which are neither easy nor hard to get.
1 Obsidian Skull - located in a secret area in each level, those are usually more difficult to get.

The Level Emblems: this is a nice feature that awards the player with an emblem on each level. There are 7 emblems counting with the notes. To get all the emblems you'll have to basically get everything in each level: all coins, gems, obsidian skulls, the notes, completing the level without dying, and you'll also have to speedrun it. There are two badges of speedrun, one to get a faster time and the other to a even faster one, I really like the emblems idea because it works really well.

The achievements Not the easiest thing to 100%, most of the achievements are easily obtained by fully completing the game, there are some achievements that require a bit of grinding and some others that can be difficult for example, speedrunning the boss rush levels, but that's good because it serves as a better challenge for those that like it.

Sounds and Soundtrack

The sounds and soundtracks are good on their own, but it gets even better when we combine them with the artwork in this game. All soundtracks are really well made and they do a good representation of the ambient that the player is located in. Some songs are better than others for my taste, I really like the songs from the swamp, the initial Ruins area, the race song, and the songs from the snow levels as well.

Design - Art

I really like it. The textures, the characters, the enemies and the objects they all look nice, very pleasant to look at and It's one of the main things that made me enjoy my time in this game. The game is quite long so you'll be travelling through a lot of levels in different places, and each one of those areas will have a different design which makes this game worth it for its content.

Overall: If you like 3D Platformer/Adventure games that have a lot of content, different levels with different areas and the option to get nice collectables, then I recommend this game.

A nicely crafted 3D first person Adventure game

This has to be one of the most well crafted 3D adventure games of all, I'm talking about a solid gameplay, coherence of colors, scenery, sounds, music and plot.
All the characters have a meaning with their own personality which often tells to the player and to the other characters their differences. The bugsnax are amazing creatures, very well designed. There is also a beautiful scenery in each part of the map combined with the amazing soundtrack, making this game really enjoyable and memorable.

Gameplay - Mechanics - Features

The main gameplay is very solid
I won't talk a lot about what you'll be doing, but most of the time you'll be capturing bugsnax and feeding them to the npcs. Basically speaking, the majority of them are captured by setting a trap and waiting for them to come near it without having to do a lot of work.
Throughout the game you'll find new tools to help you capture some bugsnax, some of them will need patience and strategies to get.

Day/night cycle
There is a day/night cycle which is really nice it makes you feel more immersed in the game. There is also a mechanic that changes the moon phases which is important because some bugsnax only appears in certain ones. You can also skip the time by sleeping.

Quests and your home
There are a lot of quests, most of them are side quests and "requests". Completing requests will get you rewarded with a decoration for your house.

And yes, you can have a house and customize it in some ways. There are some areas available for you to change the furniture to another one, you can also change the painting of the walls etc. It's pleasant and satisfying to get a nice decoration to put in your home.

Don't rush this game. Unless you are speedrunning it. This game has a lot of content, you have to be patient and you have to enjoy your time in this game. This sounds obvious but it will make your experience way better.

The Design

The characters (Grumpus) are really unique, each one of them has their own personality, which is reflected by their colors, expressions, thoughts and actions. They really show that to the player and to the other npcs. For example, you'll often see them talking to each other about themselves/ sharing their own thoughts. This is also really good because it makes the Snaxburg (Camp - the place where they live) alive, which also contributes to immersion.

The bugsnax The bugsnax are the peak of creativity in this game. they often represent food. You are going to find a lot of food types in each one of them and It's really interesting, they also make funny and cute sounds, It's hard not to like them and hard to describe them.
I really like the snackpods type of bugsnax.

The Scenery and the Soundtrack: Beautiful! Very pleasant views with nice colors that represents the biomes in a very charming way. On top of that we also have an amazing soundtrack which consists in electronic music, synthesizers in a very ethereal sounding while representing the biome in which the player is located. Very relaxing and memorable songs.
My favorite places are the Boiling Bay, Broken tooth and the The frosted Peak
My Favorite song is the one from the The frosted Peak - Frosted Peak

The Island DLC

Really gooood. I love the island itself (Broken tooth). I didn't feel tired to be there, and spoilers ahead most of the characters will be there with you and I felt comfortable with their presence . I won't talk a lot about this dlc (you really should discover it by yourself), but It's very worth it. It introduces a new mechanic to get the bugsnax in there, and there is some secrets there too + it also has a nice plot and dialogues between the characters. I really recommend playing the dlc before finishing the game.

Overall: If you like 3D adventure games and want to try something different with a very creative design, beautiful locations, sounds, music and interesting characters, then I really recommend this.

One of the most creative Tower Defense games that exists

It's hard to review the classic PvZ nowadays, everybody knows it, everybody likes it. But I want to talk about how crazy this game really is. Can we just take a moment to realize the creativity and silliness behind this? We have a lot of different plants that are animated, cute and with their own design and personalities, those with the main purpose to protect yourself (Crazy Dave) and your house (leave it open for the zombies) against hordes of zombies controlled by a mad zombie scientist. All of these things are crazy and nice, but what makes it even better is the amount of different plants and zombies that this game has.

The Plants And The Zombies

The variety of plants: It's incredible the amount of plants that you can have and how each one of them has a useful purpose with a creative design. This big selection of plants allows the player to make different strategies throughout the game, which is also good for replayability.
My favorite plant is the Chomper.

The variety of zombies: Just like the plants, the zombies also have a good array of variety, each type of zombie has a funny new appearance with a new feature (most of them are just going to have more defense points as a feature).
My favorite zombie is the conehead

The Game modes and Extras

There is a lot to do in PvZ, this game has an adventure mode, which consists of linear levels that are necessary to unlock new plants and new game modes.

Two types of puzzles.

Survival game mode with endless mode as an option.

An almanac to know more about the plants and the zombies.

A shop to buy new plants and cool stuff.

A garden to take care of your plants.

A zombie "creator" which I like to say "zombie customizer" it allows the player to customize one zombie.

Achievements that are not so difficult to obtain, it requires patience though.

As you can see, there is a lot of things do in PvZ, It's really good.

Overall: This game is a classic, a must have for those that really like tower defense games, the creativity in this game and series is worth it on its own and I really recommend this game.

An Interesting puzzle game with a mysterious sci-fi vibe

This is a puzzle game in a point & click environment without the ability to walk freely, you can transition through objects by clicking on them, this will change your camera view giving the impression that the player has moved.

Story and gameplay: Simple, almost no cutscenes, straight to the point, you get the objective, you get some information and It's up to you to continue. I really like this setting because it allows the player to get more immersed in the game.
Throughout the game you'll get some tools to work with, they will be necessary to complete some puzzles, they are also very satisfying to use.

Puzzles Difficulty: The puzzles are not very difficult, they are very intuitive but a lot of logical thinking is necessary especially towards the ending. There is an odd design there, in the very last puzzle, some bugs with the camera can happen as well, but aside from that, most puzzles are intuitive: for example, this is not the kind of game in which you have to click on everything without a clue of what to do, this game is actually logical and this is much appreciated and it's one of the reasons to why I liked it so much.

What I liked the most about this game is how smooth and well made the animations are when you are interacting with objects, so the interactions are dynamically animated, making you more immersed in the game, also the sounds are really high quality, It's really satisfying to rotate, place and collect the objects. I also love the mystery that this game creates for each puzzle, what is inside the box? What is this thing that I'm working on? It's really nice.

Overall: If you like puzzles and mysterious sci-fi/strange/curious vibes in a calm environment, then I recommend this game.

A simple and pleasant 3D platformer game

Toree 3D is very cute, The game and the character itself. It's a short game, very chill 3D platformer game.

I'll list some content and mechanics that you can find in it.

Content:
1. Some levels with variations in design.
2. Stars as collectables in each level.
3. enemies roaming (doesn't follow the player).

It doesn't have achievements, but that's okay.

I recommend playing this with a controller.

Overall: if you want a chill platformer 3D game with a nice design, then I recommend this game.

One of the best FPS Sandbox games ever

Ravenfield by itself without mods is already enjoyable, the amount of content out of the box is worth it on its own, and then we have mods, which makes this game even better.

Two major things it makes this game the best:

1. The amount of options and stuff OOTB.
A good selection of game-modes, different maps, option to configure the amount of bots for either side of the battle. Possibility to choose the type of vehicles you want available, weapons, and the duration of the match. This game has a lot of stuff to tweak to your likeness.

2. A lot of mods!
Seriously, just check the workshop of this game, I'm sure you'll find your answer there regarding whether this game is for you or not, that is if you care about mods of course.

But there are some annoyances as well.

1. Weak array of assets in its Level Editor
This game provides a level editor, and it's not so simple in terms of tools, but at the same time it doesn't have enough assets by itself, so you can't make many different maps with its native level editor, for that you would have to use external options and i didn't even care about knowing that, i just wanted more game assets on Its native Level Editor.

2. The sounds.
Unfortunately the game doesn't seem to have a system that detects the area which the player is located (Speaking about sounds). Basically speaking. There is no echoing and reverberation sounds for the weapons, and that really bothers me. You can ignore this in a lot of maps though.

Overall: I really recommend this game if you like fps games and if you are a fan of mods, this game has a lot to offer by itself. It's one of the best fps sandbox experiences that you can have.

A pleasant stealth game experience

The Slater is a unique stealth game, it is simple, but very enjoyable, You'll be spotting the same 3D character models and hearing the same voice lines over and over, simple mechanics like "collect a keycard to access this room", "collect another keycard to access the room inside that room" and so on. Things like that didn't bother me at all because of the following reasons:

1. It is a short game, you don't have to worry about doing the same things for too long, you won't get bored unless you don't like challenging stealth games.
2. The levels are well done, each level is different in terms of design/location, but the way you complete them are the same.
3. The targets have a lot of personality and they all have a little background story, I really enjoyed that.
4. It is addictive for those who like hard stealth games and want something more linear sometimes.
5. It has achievements and they are not difficult to get.

The story: Amazing, the game has an interesting end too, this game is very rewarding if you like achievements, you'll get nice achievements while progressing throughout the game.

Now, something weird but understandable. You can't just kill everybody and complete the mission, or technically you can (I did this just for fun on the first level) but you have to cheese. You'll need to find a spot where you can't get shot, you can only take a couple of shots and the enemies' aim is almost perfect.
So the game will punish you for being loud. Another funny thing is, it doesn't matter if you killed a target or someone and nobody saw you, if the body gets spotted you will be hunted by ALL enemies on the map, It's weird, but if you play this game as intended then you are going to have fun.

There are three difficulties, I've only played on "Normal" and "Hard", there are no achievements related to difficulty, which makes the hard difficulty useless, and it seems that you can't or may not get the highest rating on the hardest difficulty so yeah, there's not much point to play on any difficulty besides "Normal" . And Yes there are ratings, It's a funny thing that you get when you complete each level, you get to see some cool information when you finish a level.

No possibility to do manual saves, if you fail you restart the entire level. Just get good and enjoy.

Overall: I really recommend this game if you like stealth games with a hardcore design, no saves, very consistent gameplay, etc, I really enjoyed my time in this game and I do recommend it.

An enjoyable zombies game and a nice continuation of the previous one

Dead Island Riptide is nice on its own and also as a continuation of the first game in the series.
The story is good and there are new varieties of weapons, boats (they are all the same), lots of collectables and more islands to explore. It's a must-have for those who loved the first one.

Story: It's a continuation of the first Dead Island, although you don't actually have to play the first one to understand it because at the beginning of this game, there'll be a quick cutscene telling the main things that happened in the previous game so you can get a context of what is happening. The story on its own is pretty enjoyable too.

the scenario: It's beautiful although the first game has better islands and the islands on this one are short. In total you have 6 new areas to explore (not including the submarine) some of them are really small areas, but quite enjoyable, for example, you'll go to a Ferry Station at some point in the game, that Island is very small, but it does have a map and it reminds me the first Island of the previous game. It's an enjoyable place.

My opinion on the first Island: I mean I enjoyed but I think it could be better, with more points of interest, but I did enjoyed a lot. Some really beautiful spots on the edges of the island, I really liked the one that It's only reachable by boat, on the top left of the map where you can see the mountains and the sea, really calm and nice place.

Things it does better than the first game:
1. A skill for getting up quickly after being knocked out
2. more skills that level up by themselves, for example, you have your character skills just like the first game, but on top of that you also have weapons skills, you can level up those by killing with a specific weapon category: blunt, sharp etc. The more you level up the said category, the more damage and benefits you get while using that kind of weapon.
3. More continuous quests.
4. more XP after completing quests.

Overall: if you enjoyed the first Dead Island, please play this one too, It's a continuation of that and the Islands are worth to be played on, It's better with a friend.
