Final Fantasy VII is an ambitious retelling that updates its systems and story for the modern era. The new battle system is fantastic and does a superb job of blending strategy and action. The way the game delves into the secondary characters in a more organic way than in the original, immerses you much more in the history and motivations of all. Some technical aspects like textures could be better, but if future installments maintain this trajectory, we can be all happy.
