"Thanks for the money. I'll need it for my other projects." - Tim "3.3" Schafer (Not an actual quote he made, meant to be satrical)

Another title that's a stain on the early access program. You'd think a developer like DoubleFine couldn't mess up a PC game like this. Just take everything from Theme Hospital, mix abit of Dwarf Fortress in there add abit of originality and hey presto, you have a game. Not really though, as you've come across the bad reviews/recommendations for this game and there's alot of them.

There's nothing good in this game, it's bare-bones as it comes. Unless a very, very talented modding crew works relentlessly on this game it's never going to be worth a purchase.

Oh and one more thing; Recommending your own game through the Curator system isn't ethical. Stop that.

Edit - 21/07/2015
Wow, didn't realise that this 'review' would get so popular.
I'd just like to thank everyone who took the time to click on that good ol' green thumb and bring to light the trash that is early access and greenlight games. Thanks to Steams new refund option, broken, half made games like this will hopefully never come to be.

You misunderstand. I said butthurt is misdirected, not unwarranted. Be pissed at DoubleFine. They took your money. Badmouthing the Early Access program because you gambled and lost is childish.

You were very clearly warned every step of the way what might happen when you buy an early access title. It happened here. Absolutely be butthurt about it. I know I am. This game should have been really cool. I paid for the really cool game the developer promised to give me. But denouncing the Greenlight and Early Access programs because a developer stole your money is ridiculous.

Be pissed off. Just be pissed off at the guy who actually screwed you over (DoubleFine), not the guy who told you about an investment opportunity, did not necessarily recommend it, and allowed you to invest your money in it (Steam).

I agree with TeaSeeOh
If you spent money, expected something and did not get what you expected from what they showed in their presentation, you have rights to be angry, because you were lied to

Early access and Grenelight are both excellent programs that give the little guy an honest shot to thrive in a market dominated by EA and Blizzard. People get butthurt because not every early access game turns out as well as Terraria or Kerbal and because some devs aren't able (or don't care) to accomplish what they promised.

Early access is a fantastic way for indie developers to effectively crowd-fund their games. Coupled with Kickstarter, there's essentially no barrier to entry on Steam.

The down-side is sometimes there's a DF-9 or a Planetary Annihilation. The butthurt is misdirected. You were warned that this was not a complete game and may never be. You gambled and lost; no one to blame but yourself.

If you've been "burned" by Greenlight, you bought a game based on the fact that enough people voted for it to get on Steam. You don't get a refund if you see a movie you didn't like; you just learn to stop listening to the friend who said Jurassic World was even better than Jurassic Park.

I've bought several games in early access. DF-9 and Starforge are the only ones that didn't pan out.

DF-9 not panning out is not a reason to shy away from Greenlight or Early Access. It's a reason to think twice about buying a prerelease title from Double-Fine.

It's a mockery of this original game from Firefly Studios:
