So, Now having played this game for nearly 4 years, there's a lot I have to say.

This game has really grown from the small inconspicuous shell it used to be into something much more than the sum of its parts. I've had the pleasure of being a part of this community through thick and thin, and let me tell you, it doesn't get crazier, cooler, or wackier than this. Tower Unite is a rare golden gem amongst the games here on Steam, and to be perfectly honest, you'd seriously be missing out by not playing it.

But to reiterate on my earlier point from my last review 2 years ago:
There's a lot of games that focus on combat. There's a lot of games that focus on solving puzzles. There's a lot of games that have party shenanigans and games that have all kinds of wacky sh*t. Tower Unite is one of those games, those rare few games, that focuses on actually having fun.

Tower Unite is a community game. It's defined by its community as much as the community defines it. You've got master architects, competitive rivals, gambling addicts, pvp enthusiasts, accounting clerks, and so many more types of people all under one roof. Its a diverse game because it has a diverse community.

But the community alone doesn't make Tower Unite as good as it is. No no, there's a lot more involved than just Johnny3540's Bread-themed house of horrors over there on Boisonberry lane. This game, through thick and thin, has had some of the most active and dedicated developers I've ever seen. I'm a game design student, and frankly, its because of this game that I'm pursuing the career I am now, because these people are inspirational. Talking with the community members, making jokes, taking suggestions, doing things that should be the industry standard. Pixeltail impresses me time and time again, and I can always look forward to what's coming next.

But enough gushing about how cool the devs are. You probably wanna know about the game proper right? Well sit down mofo, cuz we got some talkin to do.

THE PLAZA
The Plaza is the Main go-to space for Tower Unite. Its a Hubworld full of wonders, secrets, and excitement (As well as questionable real estate agents and subway announcements.) The Plaza is a large, open space with plenty of interactive games and activities, including, but not limited to:
  • A Variety of Different stores that feature purchasable items with in-game earned currency
  • The Gameworld Ports (More on that in a second)
  • A Bowling Alley (The 80's called, they said you could keep this one.)
  • A large community pool with a waterslide that'd make Emporer Kuzco proud.
  • A Laser Tag Arena (Pew Pew!)
  • A Trivia Room (K N O W L E D G E)
  • THE A R C A D E (Its like Dave n' Busters but you don't have to leave your house!)
  • A Theater with working Screens that can show Youtube videos (Show off your sick CoD 4
    montages to all the strangers!)
  • Several Spots for Fishing! (Catch various sea life, or fish up more trash that some Californian dumped into the pacific!)
  • A Casino with working slot machines and poker tables (Not for the financially weak of heart)
  • A working Roller Coaster (Not for the physically weak of heart)
  • A working Ferris Wheel (Not for those who don't like heights)

The Plaza in and of itself is open, wide, and full of other things not listed above that I felt didn't need to be elaborated on because spoilers. (Shhhhh). But its always quite fun to see what's goin' on. Sometimes you get surprised with crazy happenings that can leave you waking up the next morning with 10 new friends you don't remember making.

But with that, lets talk about the other part of the game:

THE GAMEWORLDS
The Gameworlds are these sort of main minigames that TU features. They're all widely fleshed out, you can play them with your friends or with others, and they're all really unique and fun. But what can you do? Well, we have:
  • Minigolf (Fore!)
  • Ball Race (Roll around at the speed of sound!)
  • Lil Crusaders (A medieval tale of why you shouldn't leave your interns to guard a castle gate from a dragon.)
  • Virus (Its like Tag, but with guns and Contagious Disease!)
  • Planet Panic (Its Capture the Flag, but with Cats, Dogs, and UFOs!)
  • Zombie Massacre (Its like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but everyone is already Dead!)
  • Horror Hill (I ain't afraid o' no ghosts! (Spoilers, I actually am.))
  • Slaughterday Night Live (Its like the Hunger Games, but more retro!)
  • Accelerate (Think Mario Kart, but actually...don't.)

Across the activities in the Plaza and the fun you have in the Gameworlds, you earn Units, Tower Unite's in-game currency, which you can use to buy things in the various Plaza stores for:

THE CONDO
The Condo serves as your own private domicile to hang with friends or other players in a more comfortable abode. The items you purchased in the Plaza can be placed down in your condo to decorate it in any way you see fit, and with such a wide variety of items, you can build almost anything!. With all this customization, it'd be a shame to not note that there's actually more than one condo. There's actually a bunch, including:
  • The Condo (The OG Summer home: A deserted island somewhere in the Bahamas!)
  • The Suite (Cute and Cozy!)
  • The House (Perfect for the whole family, except you're probably living alone.)
  • The Smooth Dirt (Its dirt, and its smooth! Go Wild!)
  • The Underwater Condo (Become the Captain Nemo you always wanted to be!)
  • The Highrise (Look down on the Peasants beneath you, Icarus!)
  • The Art Studio (The Artsy Abode that can be anything but its probably just gonna be a hentai gallery!)
  • The Theatre (Why use the Plaza Theatre with 2 Screens when you can buy a Bigger theatre with 4?)
  • The Resort (Make your own Plaza!)
  • The Smooth Autumn (Just when you thought Smooth Dirt wasn't seasonal or scenic enough!)

With all this, and so much more in the future, Tower Unite is quickly shaping up to be one powerhouse of a game. So what are you waiting for? Just buy it already! And tell em that Alex sent ya!

Sincerely,

-Alexer Zoderia

“Players may tap a block to find a loose one. Any blocks moved but not played should be replaced, unless doing so would make the tower fall. “

You’ve never even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ read the rules have you, you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot. What, is the game over in 3 seconds, if you just so happen to touch a load bearing block first?♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ NO DUMBASS. Learn to read you illiterate ♥♥♥♥.
