60,000 - 70,000 Active players are bots and are not human. Nobody is home.
That's just afk bots inflating the economy not the ones in servers, bot hosts have committed crimes and had no repercussion from Valve, Valve's inaction has indirectly supported these crimes; these crimes are harassment, doxxing, impersonation, libel, extortion and false police reports via swatting.
VAC does not prevent these bots from joining servers or creating accounts. The code and scripts for these bots are in public circulation and are not hidden at all which makes updating the anti-cheat incredibly simple, yet nothing has been done.
Valve's gross negligence has been the cause of these bots and their hosts actions, here is a link to a video that has a document in the description detailing the actions and current situation with these bots, their hosts and the consequences of Valve's negligence.

It appears Valve has seemingly put something in place to fix this problem and now they are actively moderating the game and its community.
