Game is fun, people are still spending a ton if you're unlucky.

With the new boosters you can get for free after watching a few ads just make it harder to notice the golders.
It does somewhat help against golders but if they gold and boost you're still in a pickle.

Play for the RTS and challenge but keep in mind that if you push someone too far too quick they might crack open their wallet so take it in stride and be proud that made someone waste their hard earned money in a game just so they get a chance to resist against you.
