as I'm always on the lookout, I tend to stumble upon games that look like walking simulators on the surface but then turn out to contain deal breakers to be enjoyable for the genre(mainly fail states like dying and losing progress) so I thought I could start a list to prevent frustration. so here are a few of my failed invests(money and time wise):

this could have been a fantastic WS and it shines when you explore/can admire the level design or the story progresses, but the devs decided to add scripted events where you have to run(away) with very little room for error. I had to repeat some events so often to actually progress it destroyed an otherwise great game
