Status: It just doesn't make sense to continue hosting the server itself, and the website (or at least the forums) will likely follow soon. A few of the reasons are: the changes to TF2 (and its community) over the years, a lack of time on my part, and an inability to find someone to take things over that was both willing and technologically able to do so.

Hey all! Inspired by ROBO_LEADER's post on ye olde hellsite Twitter (same handle there as on here), I wanted to take a moment to say that even with the servers and site long gone, I still think fondly on my time actively heading up TLD, all of the lovely people that I met (or the relationships you formed with each other!) through it, and how much I appreciate all that it did to bring me closer to the person I am today.

I'm really proud of the community we built together and managing to foster a space where everyone, esp folks from marginalized communities, felt they could participate without dealing with constant toxicity and harassment. That's all too rare, both then and now.

So: to those who joined in as far back as the Old Timer's TFC server all the way up to the folks who found TLD near the end of TF2's custom server heyday and even through Planetside 2: I sincerely hope you're all doing well ❤️❤️
