For a while, I've owned the Gmod addon, Life Mod. Its a really neat mod that allows a variety of different visual features such as player shadows, increased graphics on textures, and even a blinking system! Life Mod also features a performance section for slow computers.

But the question is...is Life Mod good for slow laptops/pcs?

I did an experiment where I loaded up the map, gm_construct, with and without life mod and recorded the fps I was getting.
Here are the results:

WITH LIFE MOD (FPS): 25-35FPS (38 highest)

WITHOUT LIFE MOD (FPS): 50-60FPS (112 highest)



RESULT: LIFE MOD IS NOT GOOD FOR POTATO LAPTOPS, ONLY FOR POWERFUL DESKTOPS!


Grpahics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7640g 512mb

Processor: AMD-A8 4500M APU 1.9Ghz Quad-Core 4 Logical processors

Physical Memory (RAM): 6GB DDR3

Processes in Backgroound: Steam(60,000k memory), Discord(225,000k memory), Microsoft Security Essentials (No Scan)(1,500k memory)
