ABOUT Left 4 Dead Crash Course Boycott Group

The Left 4 Dead Crash Course Boycott is a group of individuals who have pledged to boycott Valve's upcoming update of Left 4 Dead with the Crash Course DLC. We have assembled a manifesto outlining the basic concensus of many members of our community. (Note: this manifesto is a new version, which we have recently posted to keep our manifesto in line with the middle ground of our members. This is the correct group for the boycott)

WE RECOGNIZE:

-Valve is a company with financial needs and cannot be expected to survive without the release of new games.

-Judgment cannot be passed on the quality of Left 4 Dead Crash Course until its release.

-Left 4 Dead was, and is, a quality game which deserves the praise of the entire gaming community.

WE ARE COMMITTED:

-To holding Valve to its promise of putting its entire staff to working on Left 4 Dead 2 rather than wasting time updating a dated game.

-To keeping the Left 4 Dead community together in order to improve the quality of online gaming. We can't be divided by who plays L4D still and not L4D2.

-To supporting the model of putting all your work on a new product, rather than messing around an old one.

WE BELIEVE:

-The release of Left 4 Dead Crash Course will split the communities, keeping players hooked on the original L4D, and decrease the quality of multiplayer gaming.

-The announced content of Left 4 Dead Crash Course does not warrant a time, money and manpower that could be better spent on Left 4 Dead 2.

-Left 4 Dead 2 has not yet received the support and coverage which Valve has repeatedly stated will be delivered at expos and events.

-The release of Left 4 Dead Crash Course will make Left 4 Dead 2 an obsolete purchase and inferior piece of software after you update the first Left 4 Dead past the sequels standards.

WE REQUEST:

-That Valve honor its commitment to focus its entire staff to working on Left 4 Dead 2.

-That Left 4 Dead Crash Course not be released as a free, steam update for Left 4 Dead but as either a campaign in Left 4 Dead 2 or an expansion with full compatibility with basic Left 4 Dead 2 owners.

-That Left 4 Dead 2 owners be given priority over updating with the Crash Course DLC, should it the servers not be able to handle the amount of people downloading it.

Therefore, we - the members of this Left 4 Dead Crash Course Boycott - promise to abstain from the downloading of Left 4 Dead Crash Course until our requests are addressed.

Make sure to turn of Left 4 Dead's Auto-update!

It is with great sorrow I bring to you, Staff Changes [Firings]

It has come to my attention that cerrtain members of our staff have not been as true as they should have been to the group.

It is with great sorrow that I must fire, Mushroomjay, who has made it apparant that he does not like L4D2. We understand that real life can be controlling, but there is still priorities that a staff member must up hold.

Another staff member who is being fired is Captain Failcon, a known repeat offender of the noclip cheat in Half Life, Half Life 2, and Team Fortress 2. We have viable proof that he has not ticked his Left 4 Dead to not auto-update.

In there place will be senior member, Bologna, who has been with the group the longest, and has deserved this position more than anyone.

Left 4 dead 1 is a classic in my book, but Left 4 Dead 2? badass.

and i see smurfies comment "I can't believe Valve would stop working on Left 4 Dead 2 to keep supporting an old game that no one cares about anymore! It's ridiculous."..ridiculous? that no ones cares naymore? thast why there 400,000 people play games right now and more than 3/4 of that is probably left 4 dead..left 4 dead is by far one of the greatest multiplayer zombie games ever played im not saying im not looking forward to the sequel im counting down the days but what u guys r saying is that ur just gonna stop playing the first one till part 2 comes out? come on thats dumb

ok so you gusy are boycotting a level thats part of the l4d DLC that people will more than liley playout or just forget about by the time nov.17th comes around?..and u say they too money away from part 2 by making this level?..how?..who knows this was probably a level intented for the first left 4 dead that didnt make the cut..and they probably saw all the player crteated levels and decided to post something actually worth playing.i kno when part 2 comes out i wont be looking back at the ifrst one for a long time and im pretty sure nobody else will either but crash course will just be that awesome little "goodbye" level till l4d2 comes out

I don't know about anyone else but I'm utterly offended that the L4D2 boycotters got to go to see the superior sequel but we're forced to wait until Crash Course is unceremoniously dropped on us like a nuclear turd with no warning. For shame Valve. For SHAAAAAME.
