It's crazy the impact Dingo had on people. He was ALWAYS around on our 2fort server and generally friendly and well liked.

Sadly, probably largely forgotten at this point, but I remember him being fiercely loyal like a guard dog. Always felt like this dude had my back. And I was basically just a kid (19) when I met him. Here's a guy in his twilight years, southern gentlemen, ex-cop who did things by the book. A real no-bs, lawful good character.

He was an excellent judge of character too, and wouldn't hesitate to throw idiots out of our server, but also knew when to give people a second chance. That alone had an impact on me as a young man. I mean, here I am typing this more than a decade after his death.

The game came out in Fall of 07' and had a relatively short hayday. We got 2, maybe 3 really good years of TF2 before the updates started negatively impacting the base game. By 2011 the game was pretty different then when it came out.

Unfortunately, Dingos health was never great, and by 2011, he was not well. He had a lot of complications from diabetes. He was in pain but continued to uphold the 2fort server when he could. He lost vision in one eye and then things got worse. He couldnt find time to play too often and just a few weeks later, that was it for Dingo.

I only knew Dingo for a few years but it's guys like that are legendary in character. In online gaming, I've found many people will come and go, but few will hold the impact that Dingo had on TF2 and our little community. I don't know if this will reach many people- but here's to the forgotten, and to the good times we had, gaming many years ago.
