History:

The HMS Revenge was launched in April 1805, mere months before the battle of Trafalgar. She was renowned for being one of the fastest and agile ships in the fleet at the time of Trafalgar and could deliver the fastest broadsides thanks to Captain Moorsom training his crew to the highest standard. She played a crucial role in the battle fighting in Collingwood's division where she severely damaged the San Ildefonso and the French Achille before ramming and incapacitating the French Aigle. The Revenge was badly damaged in the fight and by a miracle of seamanship managed to return to Gibraltar in a raging storm even though she was slowly sinking! After her repairs, she developed a reputation for chasing down some of the faster French ships in the Napoleonic era. The HMS Revenge was the first ship to be painted in the distinctive black and yellow Nelson Chequer.

About us:

HMS Revenge is a role playing ship crew using realistic naval terms & commands such as hard a starboard, fire as you bear, set course NNW & more. Our aim is to be different from other crews and regiments by having realistic role play fun for our members, from sailors working as a proper gun crew to our marines acting as the ships guards and first to board enemy vessels. Our gunner crew works in pairs or threes to provide fast reloads and faster broadsides while our marines stand fast firing volleys at the enemy crew or forming ranks to fire effectively at enemy garrisons at forts to achieve victory for the King.
