Might be because of this change to US pricing
https://newsroom.paypal-corp.com/2022-06-Upcoming-Changes-to-PayPals-Pricing-Structure
It would add up to 4,5 %, 2,99 % base +1,5 % conversion fee.
However i also received a G&S payment from US to Germany and there was still the usual 0,35 € base fee with the 5% on top.
So i would say it is not general and depends on the country sending and receiving.
So, still convoluted as usual
EVERYONE COME TO US BUYERS
G&S fees depend on the country receiving.
F&F fees depend on the country sending.
It's just which end of the transaction the fees are charged.
This is the new fee for US:
https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/merchant-fees
Send/Receive Money for Goods and Services 2.99%
plus
Additional percentage-based fee for international commercial transactions
All Commercial Transactions 1.50%All Commercial Transactions 1.50%
So 4.49% of the total being sent.
Thanks for the better explanation! My monkey brain can only copy&pasta some transaction records.
I traded with non-US region a few days ago, still 4.5% fee. Not sure what's going on with your trades
This one was some time ago. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I think the fee taken was something like 7% instead of the 4.5-5% i was expecting. No clue why
