First, I want to express my appreciation to Unfold Games, the developer behind DARQ, for their boldness of challenging the current gaming industry, their goodwill of help reshaping the gaming industry, and most importantly, their love for the gaming industry.

We always say: vote with your wallet. And as an average consumer with nothing but a not very deep wallet, I cannot agree more. However, I also realized that only voting “no” by not doing business with EGS or ♥♥♥ won’t be enough to make our experience as a consumer better. Beside voting “no” with our wallet, we also need to vote “yes” with our wallet by making developers like Unfold Games whole for giving up such a great opportunity for a stable source of funding. We need to answer goodwill with goodwill.

With stores like Humble Bundle and Fanatical, people can purchase games at insanely low prices. And with so many games in our backlog, we can almost always wait until a game gets in a bundle and buy it for less than 10% of its normal price. I almost feel more guilty to legitimately purchase a high-quality game at a dirt cheap price than straight-up pirating it. And I believe that discounts like these are partially why so many indie developers choose to take the exclusive deal - because the money coming from other platforms is just not enough to let them keep doing what they love.

I still remember in the last paragraph of Unfold Game’s blog post about the exclusivity deal, where the developer expressed the willingness of letting the players enjoy being able to make choices. I think now is the time for us to give indie developers a choice to not take the exclusivity deal from Epic or anyone else.

大家总是说：用钱包说话。身为一个普通消费者，我对这个观点再赞同不过。可是我意识到，单单对诸如EGS，G2A这样的平台说“不”，并不能让我们作为消费者的体验变得更好。所以我们不光要用钱包说“不”，还要用钱包对诸如Unfold Games这样的开发商说“对”，帮助他们得到放弃EGS独占失去的一大笔稳定资金。我们应该善待那些懂得善待玩家的开发者。

慈善包和包龙星这样的网站的出现，让人可以用极低的价格购买游戏。而我们库里那些积灰的游戏，足以让我们等到想买的游戏降到低于一折的时候再入手。用这种白菜价来购买质量上乘的游戏，甚至让我觉得比直接下破解版还要有”负罪感“。我也很确定这种”白菜“折扣的存在是促成让一些独立开发者选择从Epic拿钱的原因之一，因为其他平台的收入并不足以让他们继续做自己热爱的事。

我还记得Unfold Games关于婉拒EGS独占邀请的blog的最后一段话中，开发者说希望玩家都可以有自己的选择。我觉得现在是时候让我们来帮助其他的独立开发者可以像Unfold Games一样，选择拒绝独占。
