That's a hot button topic for me, because I am not going to hold the LGBTQ in high regard even if I'm bi, or have trans friends, I personally don't like holding one community in such a high regard purely for existing because that's kind of what "Bias" is and I want to have an unbiased opinion here.. I have harsh opinions on people who force ideals down one's throat, and folks who use their status as part of the LGBTQ to enact injustices, or take advantage of others. I wish having these opinions didn't make people that aren't bad, be offended on part of the whole community because I don't like 2-3 people.
Now that's out of the way, there are people of the LGBTQ who are sweeter than honey, and probably don't deserve the hate they get. Frankly, I'd like to meet them and hug them in which case, cus much like everyone posting up. "Notallorcs" or "Notallcops" and the like, not everyone in the LGBTQ are the same, frankly if you ask me, the Rainbow flag shouldn't be used as a Pride symbol, but a symbol of individuality, because everyone in the LGBTQ are all colors of life, they can be a game designer, a cop themselves, or even just a dude doing dude things..
Unfortunately there are people in fandoms, that ruin it for everyone else, as there are for the greater community such as the LGBTQ that get fucking SLAMMED because of a few bad eggs like Kris Tyson, Keffals, or even Blue Folf (Trans, who is also a Furry).. Admittedly these people had me CLOSE to harboring very anti-trans ideals, but I took to talking to my trans friends who walked me through to vilify the bad ones and hug the good ones, in simpler terms.
My take on it, is if you want respect, you give it. I'm not gunna be a jerk about stuff unprompted, but I'm returning the anger back, if I'm provoked... cus at the end of the day, if you're a jerk; 4x4-16 = the amount of f*cks I give.
but since were talking about LGBTQ lets talk about the bigots of sweet baby inc and some outer DEI constitution firms ruining gaming by shoving the messaging down our throats and calling out anyone who even remotely criticize them in any way they talk about being inclusive, but they really exclude anyone with different thoughts F*cking Nazis
Personally, I don't know if people understand what a bigot is either.
*I was referring to the guy who fired shots at you for not knowing what a N*zi* is.
People are more complicated than just simply good or bad; there are various shades of gray, and good-intentioned people can fall for horrific mindsets without realizing that the ideas were inhumane or dehumanizing to begin with. If someone feels it'll be for the greater good, they'll do what they can even when it's based around a false or harmful idea.
Of course, there'll still be selfish people there fooling the altruistic people through any means possible.
An unbiased human is impossible; it's best to think and be aware of what your biases might be so it doesn't cloud your judgment and reasoning. I live in a rural area, and these parts of the US are typically filled with conservative mindsets; it's stupid that human rights have become a political issue, but I digress.
What you're talking about is people using their status as a scapegoat, this could happen to any group. Some people will justify their behavior by any means possible. But yes, any group can have bad actors. Besides that, I used to be quite the centrist before I learned what the middle ground fallacy was; after that point, I started to realize that not everything can fall in the middle, such as pro-abortion and anti-abortion topics; I wasn't on either side until my sister was nearly assaulted roughly 5 years ago, my cousins where there with her and threw the guy out on the streets, I thought hard about this, and it's horrifying how there are people out there who, likely unknowingly, don't want to give victims this option. Then there are people who blame them for the assault happening to them. My sister came close to being a victim, and that's very hard to process at such moments.
I am very ignorant about the history of LGBT but from what I recall, the symbol is meant to be about individuality and the fight against individual rights being taken away.
I am under a rock so I don't know who those people are.
Anyways,
my mother is Christian, and my thoughts were influenced by that, I remember as a kid how the Bible would give me unusual phobias like fearing that a demon would be around the corner. Suffice it to say: after my father saw how the Bible would make me and my siblings react, he stopped teaching religious literature to us.
And watching my mother act around her brother/my uncle, a gay man, comes across as homophobic. He had AIDS, it was reasonable to be cautious with that, but to act like two men kissing or acting like a couple was disgusting is something different. This I feel sat in my subconscious, where I believe my bigoted thoughts started.
Very reasonable there.
I typically overthink things and look like a bot lol
