A new update has come out which should massively improve the multiplayer experience.

For our dedicated server multiplayer community, we have added the possibility to have more than only one starter planet! Any server owner can now define any planet of the solar system as a starter planet, simply by editing the sectors.yaml. It’s also possible for the server owner to activate an “automatic wipe” mechanism to clean up structures that haven’t been visited by their respective owner for the time set in the dedicated.yaml.

This means we can now have more than one starter worlds and clean up inactive ships/bases so that it doesn't stop others from playing!

Game issues and additional moderating.

Hi guys,

A lot of people have been constantly having connection issues to the server.

I just want to explain that there is nothing wrong with the server in 96% of the times you have been unable to connect.

96% of the time its a game limitation due to maximum structures reached in the playfield or game bug that has prevented you from joining.

~2% of the time an update has deleted our custom config and the server fails to start correctly.

~2% of the time the game bugs out and starts spawning many more empyrion.exe processes than it should and the CPU cores all reach 100% grinding the entire server to a halt. (This has supposedely been fixed in a recent update, we will see)

So as you can see 96% of the time (based on no fact at all other than my opinion) its a game bug that normally requires human intervention to fix. Somer and myself are unavailable most of the day to deal with these day to day issues so we can only hope that Empyrion come out with more updates to improve the performance and experience of Multiplayer mode and we can also recruit more Moderators.

To become a Moderator

There are no fancy GUI's or special in-game commands or magical fluff that you might be use to if you have previously been an administrator of a game-server. You will be required to be familiar around navigating root directories for game-servers and familiar with using console/PuTTY.

Prerequisites

Willing to perform boring moderation tasks for nothing in return other than knowing you helped someone else enjoy the game.
Be able to follow simple instructions in regards to moderating the server.
It would help if you have some sort of an IT background.
Be available on your computer and willing to moderate for at least 10 hours per week. (This just means being aware of posts on the steam group requesting help)
Be responsible and over the age of 18.
