The News | What in the world happened to Bacon Lounge?

Where do I even start? It took a bit of work, but I managed to get the group back in order after the shit show that went down. I'll start with the big question:

No, we were not hacked. The Bacon Lounge group was compromised as the result of an apparent oversight on Bacon's side. As I understand it, when he left the group, he had no remaining group staff in the community, as they had left before him. If you're familiar with how Steam groups work, you know that when lacking an officer or moderator, the group will assign owner to some given user. THAT is when things went bad. Somewhere along the chain of people getting owner and screwing around before leaving, one of these random people gave everyone every possible permission.

Make sense? Everyone could do everything, and I had to actually message one of the people who ended up with the group in his lap, DecryptedGaming. Before I proceed any further, I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Decrypted for his cooperation in resolving this issue. I had him turn over the owner position to me, so that I could stop the madness. Thank you again, Decrypted.

So, here we are. I had to remove everyone's permissions to do anything while I got a couple of things set up for this announcement. The original plan was to go through and actually kick all of you so that I could properly close the group, but I wasn't clicking 7,000 times.


Now, we move on. Vinople is setting up his own lounge, which is the future of this group. The Bacon Lounge is officially closed until further notice, and the notice boy hasn't been sighted in quite a while. The new community is forming here. (Vinople's Lounge was a flop.)

Of course, not everything is going to be the same, and it's going to take time to flesh it out to the point of feeling complete, because we're starting from scratch again. That's why this announcement is going out. We'll be depending on players like YOU to get this thing off the ground. Without the players, there is no community.


Some of you who are newer to the community wouldn't have seen anywhere near as much of me as some of the veterans. I've been around since the first set of servers, and I believe that this is the fourth set that everything finally came crumbling down on. I staffed for Bacon back in the proper ZombieRP days, and because I despise Sandbox, you didn't see me very often in the newer servers.

I'd been here so long, I had to have Bacon Lounge go down with some sort of dignity. Which is why I fought so hard to keep putting up the [CLOSED] sign on the thumbnail, and kept changing Havok's things. Yep, that was me, and only me. I probably changed that fourty or fifty times.

I'll probably end up staffing in Vinople's Lounge, so be prepared for that.
