Good comment Kegbelly.
It's not an ownership thing. As long as the core software is offered free. And Steam has the option to offer free. Slitherine can't sell the core game, but there is nothing stopping them from marketing the Mega Campaigns.
And it would be cool if the Depot guys could circulate a competently installing file for their modified file as well.

have they ever said why they wont bring steel panthers to steam ?
Tankgirl 23 Dec, 2023 @ 8:08am
Hoping everyone has a great gaming year in 2024. Inasmuch as my gaming in 2023 has mainly been playing games that are often more than 10 years old... But I have bought some. Big fan of WDS (John Tiller).
Tankgirl 23 Dec, 2023 @ 8:06am
To accuse them of being corrupt because of NOT releasing an unready game is kinda funny sounding actually
SkyRaptor 13 Dec, 2023 @ 7:06pm
It Appears that the gmes this company produces have set a release date then a few days before suddenly change it and add months later. Why? Is this some sorto of Scheme? Corrupt?

There are a few games over at matrix/slitherine that i would buy on steam but are not available here. Why?
Patrick The Nobleman 6 Sep, 2023 @ 4:59am
The founder of Slitherine is Iain McNeil.

Oh, and yeah, it's not a Steam game file, just mentioning it here.
It's one of my Matrix Games files.
I like Steam these days.
But sadly, I ain't shelling out for Windows 11, so my main gaming machine will not be using Steam. Which means I have been moving to installs from Non Steam, installers.
I'm not happy with that, Steam.
Tankgirl 1 Sep, 2023 @ 8:48pm
Jumped through an Olympic sum of hoops tonight getting Gary's World at War A World Divided on the computer. I had the remastered file, but no luck, insisted on uninstalling the previous. The problem being it wasn't there. And nothing I could think of worked.
Eventually installed it on another system, copied the whole folder, transferred to the system I wanted it on, and it runs.

Whatever works eh.

Who is a founder of Slytherine?
tao5136 20 Aug, 2023 @ 10:56pm
add a replay setting,in that way we can analyse our match.also a anti cheat system
kchickenlord 7 Jun, 2023 @ 2:15am
@thegorlans If you log into your Slytherine account on their web page you should be able to select "My Page". This gives you a list of products you own and allows you to redeem Steam codes. It works for games I bought separate to Steam, although I have no iPad titles to confirm if it will work for you, all my games are PC. Worth a try though.
thegorlans 6 Jun, 2023 @ 12:11pm
hi guys, i've got some slitherine and matrix games on ipad ... can i redeem them on steam?
Tankgirl 1 Feb, 2023 @ 6:00pm
Second Front is finally here. Not a Slitherine Group title, sorry. But we now have company for the Tigers on the Hunt title. And competition for Valor and Victory.
Canute VII 13 Jan, 2023 @ 12:59pm
Hey, will you ever release "Hannibal: Rome and Carthage in the Second Punic War" on Steam?
Bạn tuyệt vọng đến mứ 14 Nov, 2022 @ 2:45am
can someone give me a jester for my profile thanks
Tankgirl 11 Jul, 2022 @ 8:31pm
Saw this quote today "Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2: Steel Inferno" I suppose this means you proooobably can forget Steel Tigers. Gary isn't as young as he used to be. I'd think he'd be working on his retirement before Steel Tigers. Then again, is Gary actually still active?
Deus_0101 9 Jul, 2022 @ 1:48pm
Any chance you guys could connect with DVG and make Hornet Leader CAO digital? That would be great.

BeanCurd, Matrix-Slitherine checkout does have problems. I tried to pay with my credit card but I cannot modify anything so I had to go through Paypal to get it done which I hated. Everything was grayed out and unchangeable. I thought I deleted all cookies which was their first recommended fix but that did not work. I gave up after that.
Nukoolamukmuk 17 Feb, 2022 @ 1:41am
I think Slitherine is forcing people to switch to buying direct from Steam instead of from their site. It screws me up cause I wanted to keep slitherine games in my slihterine folder and separate from steam, but then I can't buy new DLCs like storm of arrows cause it won't be compatible with non-steam fog2 medieval.

Also the coupon is only the second one they gave me a few days ago in all the time I used slitherine so I was happy to try it but slitherine disabled it before I could use it which is weird. And they try to block me from my account by constantly making me do weird google click on picture cognitive tests. Like I said, things are getting very weird on that slitherine site. I made a mistake buying games from them and should only use steam which is reliable and doesn't go crazy.
Tankgirl 3 Feb, 2022 @ 9:17pm
Valor and Victory Stalingrad release. Pure awesome goodness.

But why is their no mention of Valor and Victory in the list of associated games here :)
Warspite 29 Nov, 2021 @ 4:51pm
I bought DC: Ardennes Offensive. It's very good. The ability to create kampfgruppen on the fly is a game changer. Literally. Massive amounts of detail in the OOB and operational utility make this a must buy IMO.
Tankgirl 24 Nov, 2021 @ 9:33am
Ahhh, that time of year arrives yet again. Which matters if you don't already own the games :)
But I do (own the games).
Other than Decisive Campaigns Ardennes. Which duh, is still new so not on sale.
I'm waiting on Steam's seasonal sale. A few DLC are in my sights.
Tankgirl 18 Nov, 2021 @ 9:00am
I guess it is just a matter of time for Decisive Campaigns Ardennes to show up on Steam :)
Tankgirl 9 Oct, 2021 @ 7:21am
Want to get a nice Squad Tactical fix? Try a new game called The Troop here on Steam. It has a demo. I'm really impressed with it.
kchickenlord 1 Oct, 2021 @ 7:30am
Ardennes is looking good. The change of scale, along with some of the new features make it very different to the other games.
Warspite 30 Sep, 2021 @ 1:23pm
It looks good. I'm a big fan of Vic's games.
Tankgirl 30 Sep, 2021 @ 9:49am
My next purchase, likely not here immediately.

Tankgirl 14 Sep, 2021 @ 9:46am
Yes, apparently they do. Mine was a 17 year coupon. I usually get surprised by them. Mine arrived in my junk mail, though, so I think you want to investigate. You might have just missed them.
kchickenlord 11 Sep, 2021 @ 6:37pm
They still do anniversary coupons? I haven't gotten one in a couple of years.
Tankgirl 11 Sep, 2021 @ 3:05pm
Ain't HERE yet, but I can wait. Scored Warplan Pacific at the source for 50% off with my 17 year coupon. Very nice :)
Tankgirl 16 Aug, 2021 @ 10:38am
It is a shame, that Slitherine Group is only able to discuss/inspire dialogue about existing titles ON Steam. If they are publishing it, they should be capable of discussing it here. Example WEGO Stalingrad. It's up and coming. But Desert War 1940-1942 isn't on Steam either, so no one on Steam will be discussing it.

It doesn't need to be ON Steam, to be marketed THROUGH Steam.
Tankgirl 16 Aug, 2021 @ 10:35am
I here ya Demon. We old buggers want the old ways, but it means it's hard to attract new meat as they are not even aware of the old ways. I say 'wargame' and the reaction is some form of shooter. You say RPG and they think World of Warcraft MMO. To me, a wargame has card board counters and a grid overlay. A role game uses funny shaped dice.
Met A Demon Once 12 Aug, 2021 @ 1:25pm
You go into your typical game store and what do you see. Warhammer, Magic The Gathering, RPG games and if you are lucky a couple of shelves devoted to historical wargames. Historical wargames are a niche within a niche within a niche. Same for computer games. FPS First Person Shooters top the list and way down at the bottom are historical wargames (there are exceptions though). Maybe the problem is the players haven't changed to match the times which includes the game manufacturers. They are putting out designs in which I would feel right at home playing in the 1980s and 1990s instead of the 2020s. I have left the 1980-1990s behind and want to play 2020s designs.
Tankgirl 12 Aug, 2021 @ 1:14pm
And still breathing. I think one of the sad things, is the number of people who is fertilizer now. The good ones, and the bad ones. One day I went looking, and found my favourite hater was no longer around. He didn't have a nice bone is his body. I ran a forum with one chap for a time, he's gone. I don't feel old, but I do seem to be outliving a lot of people. So much of our lives is digital these days.
Warspite 12 Aug, 2021 @ 1:05pm
I guess I am old. :D
Tankgirl 12 Aug, 2021 @ 12:57pm
Nah I didn't get banned, Erik made it so I can't even so much as read the forums :)
I still have access to Slitherine. But Steam is just fine. It's sad that some wargame sites are really just gone. Wargamer is a pale shadow, ACG is no more. Matrix Games hasn't been the same since 2005. I don't think 'forums' have aged well. They were the thing for a number of years between 2000-2010. Now referring to forums just marks a person as 'old' :)
Warspite 12 Aug, 2021 @ 11:30am
You got banned?

A lot of blowhards on that forum. You are better off without them.
Tankgirl 6 Aug, 2021 @ 11:48am
I have a big mouth and I'm opinionated :) Is anyone shocked by that revelation?
Anyway, I just want to mention, I've had men buy me wargames just because they liked my input that much. This has happened on numerous wargaming forums over the last 20 years. Wargamer, Matrix Games, Armchair General, many big sites. I've been sent models. I've been given overt praise.
I just want to thank all of those individuals. You make the hobby great.
Tankgirl 4 Aug, 2021 @ 5:24am
Hey Erik, I want to thank you for all the lost time I won't be losing now :) I should after all, be spending it playing my games.
Warspite 28 Jul, 2021 @ 4:47pm
I want all the wargames. ALL the wargames. Gotta have them. :)
Tankgirl 28 Jul, 2021 @ 4:22pm
Soo, why did you buy all of those wargames? Really, why did you do it? In my case, I lack adequate adult supervision :)

LnL tactical Digital is finally coming to life for me.
I think it will be quite the competitor for Valor and Victory

Over all, I think 2021 will be a good year for squad tactical.
Now if they could just give us Steel Tigers and stop fawning over massively expensive, massively complicated and massively tedious titles :)

I'm just wondering if there will be any room left in the day for it though.
Or will it be massively underwhelming.
Tankgirl 19 Jun, 2021 @ 5:24pm
Well the ban is over. But the welcome is also gone. I've moved on. I comment solely on a game's page now, or in places like here on Steam. I have no patience for heavy handed individuals. The internet is a big place. Plenty of places to be :) I like to post here, my own Steam account and on FB. I know some don't like FB. I don't like chatting on a cell phone myself. I'm known as MrsWargamer, and I'm also known as により バニー レスリー
Tankgirl 17 Jun, 2021 @ 12:12pm
Valor and Victory, one of the best Slitherine Group purchases I have ever made.
Tankgirl 11 Jun, 2021 @ 9:04am
I'm trending towards lower level tactical. After Valor and Victory, my wallet might be interested in The Bloody First. I've always had an interest in Close Combat series, but have just never really jumped in both feet. The Bloody First might change that.
