A Final Goodbye <3

As many of you have noticed, our server is no longer online. I will dive into the details below, but first I'd like to thank all of you for everything that has been done these past three years. It's hard to put into words what an adventure this has been for me. Three and a half years ago, I was bunnyhopping on a server known as [KG] Bunnyhop, with one of our first admins "Mew". There was no timer, and the only style was Auto. It was then that he suggested I take it upon myself to create my own server that had everything we were looking for in a bunnyhop server, and that is where Bunnyhop Paradise began. I would have never guessed it would have reached the size and popularity that it has, and I could never be more grateful.

Looking back, there isn't a thing I would have done differently. We accomplished some amazing things as a community, everything from popularizing a completely new style, to introducing an entire competitive tournament for bunnyhop. None of this could have been done without you guys, and for that I thank you all. I truly cherished each and every player we had, from trolls to mic spammers to dedicated members, everyone had a place in paradise. More than anything, I will miss being able to log onto our server and receive the warm welcome from our players.

There has been a lot of speculation as to the reason behind the server being shutdown, but I'd like to clear everything up. It's not a surprise that the care and maintenance of the server has been close to none these past months. This is something I'm entirely responsible for, and I apologize for not being able to do so. I loved developing the plug-in, and would gladly spend every minute of free time I had doing so. However, I often wondered what I could create if I had put that time into something that offered an actual return for my time. I never started Paradise for the money, and knew that I would eventually end with a financial deficit. I did it for the feeling of others enjoying something I created, something I could develop for them. I have finally made the decision to pursue a new project, and simply wouldn't be able to maintain both of them.

Many have asked as to why I don't sell the server/community to somebody instead ending it here. Quite frankly, I'm not interested in money. I loved Paradise for what it was, and could never stand to see it's image ruined by someone else. In addition to that, I never developed the plug-in to be used by anyone else. There are so many things that are working simply because I know the entire system inside and out. So thus, I felt it was best to let our journey end here.

It kills me to write this, as one of my main sources of motivation over the years was not becoming one of the communities that died off. I have made so many friends, and while speaking to Pixel, I think he put it best:

Pixel: I figured the time was near. I really am sorry to hear that, I truely believe the server could have been kept up and running with proper management and care. The paradise community, while not always the nicest, was one of the closest knit communities that I think ever I've ever seen. I know people who have met in real life, and friendships that go beyond just counterstrike. I'd take pride in the fact that you had a helping hand in all that, not even considering all the thousands of hours of good times people had on your creation. I really do think that this server could have been something. Had things turned out differently, i have no doubt in my mind that paradise could have been something bigger. Hopefully you can see that tooo. I'll miss hopping on and bunnyhopping on my favourite style, but what can you do. I made that choice when I decided to main parkour, something that I'll never regret considering the amount of fun it was. Thank you for providing an opportunity and platform for me and my friends to spend countless hours having a good time.

I love each and every one of you. You will always be able to find myself and many other players in the TeamSpeak, and who knows where this new project may lead us. The server may no longer be online, but our community will always be here. You will never know how much you have changed my life, just as I'll never know why I was so lucky to have had something that makes saying goodbye so hard. Please don't forget me, and all of the things we did. As the great Dr. Seuss once said:
