The Royal Empire of Krstotzka is a massive, orderly nation, ruled by Emperor Strauss with an iron fist, and notable for its parental licensing program, state-planned economy, and restrictive gun laws. The cynical, humorless, devout population of 4.333 billion Krstotzkans are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt, socially-minded morass — juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Phoenix. The average income tax rate is 93.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Krstotzkan economy, worth 405 trillion Kenzzes a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology and Soda Sales. Average income is 93,679 Kenzzes, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The government has declared its commitment to multilateralism, euthanasia is illegal, motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours, and it is now illegal for teens to view any sites except Club Kitten and My Little Donkey. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Krstotzka's national animal is the Grey Wolf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
