The biggest week of the year for Japanese game announcements is upon us, and Japan Banzai is on top of things. What becomes immediately apparent is the overwhelming amount of support Sony is getting from third-party publishers. I don't know if we can call it a return to PS2 form, but this lineup is very reminiscent of TGS 2001-2004. On the flip side, I'm disappointed to see only a handful of simultaneous PC releases planned. I thought we were past this point already. I don't know why Capcom waited this long, but great news nonetheless. One of my biggest complaints was the sub-30fps framerate on the PS3. Their games run really well on PC thanks to MT Framework, so the port should be great.

SHMUP fans have something to look forward to this Winter. No titles have been announced, but I'd expect DoDonPachi and Deathsmiles to start with.

Degica also has a Muv-Luv Kickstarter planned for early September. They seem to be scoring some really good partnerships and are quickly becoming a formidable publisher on Steam. Exciting times ahead.
