The puzzles in this game suck and always have

There, I said it. It isn't necessarily that they are hard, but the way they are integrated makes them unreasonably so. The music chair puzzle only gives you a limited amount of time to move finicky sliders into the right position while fighting input lag, generic sorting puzzles making multiple appearances, oh and the extreme precision and speed with which you must sound horns to play monkey chess (which is essentially another sorting puzzle). Adjust the Darkness?

Is there a fix for to adjust the brightness/contrast in this game other than the sliders in the options. I've got the brightness maxed out, and I still can't see stuff in the starting lab. I had to use a walk-through just to find the switch to exit the room. I still couldn't see the switch when I was looking right at it. I had to move to a different angle and look for the silhouette of the switch in the light from the window just to figure out where the switch was, and that was after I knew where to look...

Myst IV is now 64-bit support MacOS compatible

We just pushed out an update for Myst IV. This update brings the game up to date to run on MacOS 13 and later, and Windows 10 and later operating systems. Earlier MacOS and Windows versions may still run the game, but those operating systems are not Officially supported. Launch times can be very long on unsupported platforms. Still can't play on windows 10

Went back and forth with Cyan support (shout out to you guys on the speedy replies and suggestions) but still cannot get this game to start up. Has anyone been able to nail down what the problem is with windows 10 that makes this game unplayable/unable to start? I realize this game is old as hell but I bought the collection and would like to finish it someday. Things I have tried: Dedicating the gpu to play the game. You know a video game is bad when you decide to wash dishes instead of playing the game.
If I wasn't decidedly set to play through the entire Myst series, I would have quit this game after the first 30 minutes, and I hadn't even gotten to any of the puzzles yet. The controls are terrible; it's a huge step back from Myst 3. Other reviews here go into detail as to how and why the interface is bad, and those other reviews are all correct. Only play this if you are determined to get through the series.
