There is content steam does not allow so you can get a patch elsewhere. That is my understanding

Of course it is censored. Valve doesn't allow delicious smut to be sold on their storefront.

As to whether or not you can uncensor it after purchase, that is up to the developer if they want to release a restoration patch. Some devs do, some devs refuse.

There is a Directors Cut Patch available for sale on Denpasoft. As of now though, you can't use it as Steam will give you an error on launch. The Devs have fixed it to make it work but have not released the update to steam yet. They said they will update it soon.

Yeah, it seems they reduced the price by 5 dollars on Steam and at the moment you can get that patch for 5 dollars on the Denpasoft site. Like I said though, if you apply it, it will make the game fail to launch with (Launch Error 86). Still waiting on the actual game update to fix this though.

Well, if the patch + Steam version costs the same as the full version on their own site, I guess that is kinda OK.

They don't even sell the full game on Denpasoft anymore I don't think. I guess before the relaunch of Muv-Luv it was 34.99 on Steam. Now it's priced at 29.99. You can actually only buy the patch at Denpasoft. I understand why they did it that way but I can't say I am happy about it since the patch is incompatible at the moment. I never played the old release but I hear that you don't lose much beside the 18+ content. Downside is that there is no patch yet for Muv-Luv Alternative. Hopefully they will get it all straightened out soon.

you can purchase uncensor for $9.99. yes, the base game is censored, the uncensor is extra work done/more translations, and reworked cgs/etc... steam doesn't generally allow uncensored titles on steam without them providing the patch elsewhere.

You have to pay extra if you want the entire game, gotta buy the patch...

I'm curious to know this since Humble's offering the entire series for 35, I'd like to support it and be a completionist for achievements ands tuff but also would like to see it uncensored too without needing to pay more.

It's misleading if they don't retitle these games like "Muv-Luv Family Friendly Censored Version"

not really misleading at all. the patch was available on the original version from denpasoft, but not the newer version.

Steam doesn't allow sexual content with minors.

no, the publishers of the game changed not too long after it came out then those patches were discontinued. you'd have to both have the old version of the game plus the patch already.
