Awesome campaign, and mods further elevate the replayability of the game. Though buy the game on sale, as it's quite expensive, and so are the DLC's

I have absolutely zero experience in or interest in the BattleTech/MechWarrior universe. I'm not even interested in mechs as a motif in general. But man this game is just so much fun. I only bought it after watching a let's play on YouTube and had to try it for myself. As a big fan of turn-based tactical strategy games, this is among the very best. The story is okay, and probably significantly more interesting if you're a fan of the franchise and are into the lore, but the gameplay is where this shines for me. That feeling you get in XCOM 2 when you develop these relationships with your crew, spend time customizing their loadouts and relying on them to come in clutch in tough fights, that's all here. The thrill of victory, the pain of losing one of your top pilots, it's so immersive. If you like the genre, regardless of whether you like the franchise, I highly recommend BattleTech.

Absolutely love this game, one of my favorite turn based strategy titles. I've always loved the MechWarrior series, but I'm only a little embarrassed to admit I didn't realize that they were based on the Battletech tabletop. Now that I've found this, it's become one of my favorite games on my Steam Deck, and it scratches my turn-based strategy itch for the last few weeks now.

One thing I love is the attention to detail as well, if you go into the captains quarters to set your company's colors, you'll notice the minifigure and paint bottles on the table, which I think is just such a fantastic little thing that shows the devs really wanted to translate the tabletop experience to digital as best they could.

I personally would recommend adding a few mods to the game from Nexus, but all in all it's a really fun experience for me, simple to pick up and understand, and has a surprisingly good story so far. Definitely filled with some cheesy dialogue, and B list voice acting at times, but it's still palatable and enjoyable.

Great game, and great addition to my MechWarrior library.
