64.0

64.3 is terrible
The controls are too unresponsive when you have to hit multiple keys at once for a game about precision and fast reactions or just fast input in general. Too many times I've lost it not through any fault of my own, but because the game just decides "eh, those keypresses didn't count. Sucks to be you!"

Well i realy had no problem in this level with irresponsible button presses. Maybe it is not about the Game but more likely about you being a bad player :)

I didn't have that problem at all. It's either your keyboard or you. If it's the latter try practicing the level a bit and get a feel for how to time the button presses.

I just beat the level, (got a perfect streak, actually,) I'd gotten up to about 60 seconds maybe 10 times before posting this discussion before in the ~ 35 minutes total I'd spent trying the level before moving on to trying 64.4 and custom levels a while ago. I'm not an amazing player at this game, not even that good, but I can tell when I've pressed a button. Thanks, though, for reminding me that any game community, no matter how niche the game, has some ♥♥♥♥♥ just looking for a chance to insult people rather than even try to provide help. If you for some reason care at all, you can read the reply I gave to the other person who responded after you did for more info about the problem I was experiencing.

If you never had any problem with it, I'd guess that it's an issue with my keyboard. It's a "Razer Deathstalker" [ooh, edgy. :/ ]. If you're not familiar with it, it's a membrane keyboard, which means that it doesn't really have any tactile feedback to tell you when you've pressed a key. This makes it a lot quieter and easier to type on that a normal mechanical keyboard, at least for me, but I figured it could be contributing to my problem here, even though I'd never had any problem on any of the other levels I've tried. I thought maybe I'd been thinking I was pressing keys, but maybe was only slightly pressing them, and because the keyboard doesn't have tactile feedback when I press a key, I didn't know I wasn't pressing the key. To test this, I made sure that for every keypress, I applied a ton more pressure than I'd ever normally have to, to make sure the key was all the way down. Aside from give me hand cramps, this had little to no effect on the occurances of this bug. One out of every 3-4 attempts, give or take, would be ended by this bug. Some other runs had this happen, but I reacted in time to press the keys again in time to recover. I don't know what might be causing this, but I know it's not me, and it's probably not the game if you haven't experienced it.

Plus you haven't even beaten any of the other levels aside from 64.3, so...

Well i rather play workshop levels because they are more fun :)

And yeah i know your keyboard but i am currently playing on a non mechanical keyboard so i can't realy say anything about it. But i know that my friend who also uses mechanical keyboards had problems with the game and with 64.3 aswell. Have a great day :tfs_harold:

Huh. I wasn't expecting as polite of a response. Thanks, and sorry I went on the offensive a bit there when I replied to your first comment.

Hey! One of the devs here. I understand that the controls could feel unresponsive since we are requesting you an unsual combination of keys. Not only that: they HAVE to be pressed almost at the same time (the game waits a small amount of time after you press one key, and if no key is pressed within that time, it cancels the first input).

We do this because otherwise you could get unexpected results due to how fast the game is (if the time the game is waiting for input is longer, some keys could 'combine' in a way you didn't wanted to).

But I'm glad you got the hang of it. Sorry for making you had a hard time haha.

It's fine, I only even made this post because I got especially frustrated at one point and felt the need to vent. The the game overall is amazing, and thanks for, well, making it!

I disagree, if you switch from index to 1 hand it's pretty easy to get used to it, it just requires a different playstyle

oh my god i entirely forgot about all of this, past-me got heated here for a bit, lmao.

To be totally honest I don't actually know what either of those terms mean, index or 1 hand, but i'm pretty sure you're right about it anyways just cuz you know what you're talking about. Thanks for the tip, and sorry it's kinda lost on me anyways, I pretty much accepted a while ago that I'm just plain not very good at rhythm games :p

By index I meant when you use your index fingers on both hands to hit the arrows, which is good for fast patterns that switch arrows a lot.

1 hand is just using one hand on the arrows using index, middle and ring, which helps a lot when trying to hit same arrows at once.

Didn't really expect a reply since I realised it was a 2017 post right after adding to the threat and forgot afterwards, hope everything's alright after that lil while x)
