Anno 2070

F this game
I own Anno 1800. I press 'Play' in Steam and the game opens fine.

I buy Anno 2070, press 'Play' and it forces me to enter a password every single time.

Refund requested.

Forgot your password or what is your problem?
dan0812 18 ABR a las 4:57
My problem is what I said. I do not want to have to enter a password every time I load a game. It's annoying and unnecessary.

The fact that two games on the same launcher behave differently suggests either the launcher is crap or Ubisoft has stupid policies (or perhaps it's both - either way bad for consumers who don't want or need launchers at all).

you're joking, right

Of course, I actually think it's a brilliant system and love the process of launching a game to waste as much time as possible. Hopefully, over time, they'll force me to provide my address, phone number and date of birth every time every launch too.

I know others feel the same because there's so many positive comments and reviews that mention how great Ubisoft Connect is. We need more steps, more server authorisation failures and anything else they can do to make the product worse.

so you're just too lazy to enter your password ?

Or maybe I have a health issue that affects my ability to type and am reliant on text-to-speech software which is not easily used in this case.

That is besides the point. Not once have I ever encountered a game that requires a password to play it - so why does this one?

If you have health problems, that's sad.

Log in to Ubisoft and check the settings, activate auto login and then it should work for a while.

I've only ever been asked for passwords at installation.

It's very obvious what I mean here since I said in the very first post that I own a copy of Anno 1800. Like every other game I've ever encountered, this is no requirement to enter a password to play it.

I am already logged in to Ubisoft Connect and have been playing Anno 1800 for months and there was not one single occasion where I had to enter a password to play it.

My apologies for calling you a liar.

I was frustrated at the time and took it out on a stranger.

I'm sorry.

It's fine, and accepted - came across as a bit confrontational but I've seen plenty worse on Steam discussion boards.

I agree that it's annoying that it asks for a password every time but you're seriously overreacting. This is a great game and it's silly to refuse to play it over such a minor issue as entering your password. It's probably a bug that got introduced by some launcher upgrade at some point and they just didn't bother to fix it. I don't they intended it to behave this way.

I usually just temporarily put my password in a text file on my desktop so I have it at hand.

Its annoying and its not a great game. Even Anno 1404 is better.

Hey bro, I've been thinking about your post constantly. I did some snooping around. If you launch from Ubisoft Connect, instead of Steam, as long as you have Steam open and connected, it won't ask you for your password anymore.

If you launch from Steam but aren't connected to Ubisoft, regardless of your remember me settings it will ask for your password.

TLDR have both Ubisoft Connect and Steam open, open game from Ubisoft Connect.

Unfortunately, doesn't work - tells me I need to re-enter my password to play regardless of which app I launch from.
