The fact that two games on the same launcher behave differently suggests either the launcher is crap or Ubisoft has stupid policies (or perhaps it's both - either way bad for consumers who don't want or need launchers at all).
I know others feel the same because there's so many positive comments and reviews that mention how great Ubisoft Connect is. We need more steps, more server authorisation failures and anything else they can do to make the product worse.
That is besides the point. Not once have I ever encountered a game that requires a password to play it - so why does this one?
Log in to Ubisoft and check the settings, activate auto login and then it should work for a while.
It's very obvious what I mean here since I said in the very first post that I own a copy of Anno 1800. Like every other game I've ever encountered, this is no requirement to enter a password to play it.
I am already logged in to Ubisoft Connect and have been playing Anno 1800 for months and there was not one single occasion where I had to enter a password to play it.
I was frustrated at the time and took it out on a stranger.
I'm sorry.
I usually just temporarily put my password in a text file on my desktop so I have it at hand.
If you launch from Steam but aren't connected to Ubisoft, regardless of your remember me settings it will ask for your password.
TLDR have both Ubisoft Connect and Steam open, open game from Ubisoft Connect.
